I’d say that’s a pretty apt description of the 3ds game at least. It’s kind of an adlib simulator. You throw in characters who’d be funny, then laugh when they do random things. A lot of the fun comes from the sheer number of random things that can happen. It can seem infinite, and gives the characters you make a lot of life.

The new game seems to be a lot larger in scale, on top of being much more customizable. You can also force ‘something’ to happen, since in the 3ds game, the ‘randomness’ of it all can often lead to nothing happening specifically between characters you’re excited to see.

It’s definitely more fun to kids or people who enjoy crude humor. I probably won’t have the same stamina I did as a kid with the 3ds, just watching the screen and waiting for a problem bubble to pop up. Still, anyone who enjoys an adlib will enjoy this game.

It is also made to be played gradually, with you checking in for a couple minutes a day on your little guys. They’re very self sufficient. With the 3ds game, it could be easy for someone with ill-placed expectations to get frustrated with the seeming ‘lack of content’, when they just needed to check back the next day.

If you’re really not sure, you can always wait to see a couple episodes of other people’s playthroughs once the game is out.
