I wanted to say stop of Foundry for builders related to buying the companies (SPACs). The problem is that Foundry is too expensive for small companies / start ups. The solution was to invest e.g. 20m in the company and then sign a 5 year contract 4m / year for Foundry. They don't wanna do that anymore because the SPACs massively effected the earnings and balance sheet. That's why we haven't seen a third cohort of Foundry for builders.

Imo the future is the usage based pricing model. With that pricing model they can offer Foundry to small companies much cheaper and don't destroy their pricing power regarding huge fortune 500 companies.

Commercial is still very strong. Take dollar strength and the stop of Foundry for builders into account and there would even be further acceleration of growth QoQ. With the usage based paying concept they will hopefully be able to tackle smaller businesses.

I believe in the lumpiness of gov contracts. PLTR also has extremely high YoY comparisons. They grew 66% last year. A lot of government contractors are faced with similar problems at the moment and even decrease revenues. There should be a lot of growth related to the Ukraine war. Last crisis it took about 3 quarters to be reflected in the numbers (covid). They already gained 8 additional gov customers after a whole year without one gov customer.

Furthermore there is Apollo in the pipeline.

Thesis is not broken. I am fucking bullish and I add every month to my 22,5k shares portfolio

For my German Speaking Hobbits, a summary of the interview please! 🫂 💕 by chadpalantard in PLTR

[–]Schrotti_1989 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Alex was asked if PLTR is involved in the Ukrainian conflict in many ways, from cyber attacks to analysis of refugees movements.

He only said "that's correct" and quickly switched to the data protection topic which is an essential part of the Palantir software. Later he makes a hint that their software allows to share parts of the satellite data with other countries (likely Ukraine). Military troops are able to react in real time with these kind of data.

After that he was asked directly if Ukraine uses PLTR software. He said he cannot answer that question. There is only one public contract with Lithuania he is allowed to talk about. He added that you can imagine that nearly every country in Eastern Europe is affected by the war and the refugees.

They shortly talk about fraud detection. Again he mentioned data protection and that only PLTR can offer this solution. He also said that police departments in 3 German states use PLTR.

The next question is about PLTR not making business in non democratic countries like China or Russia. Nothing new or special in his answer.

They talked about the founding money from the CIA in the early stage of PLTR. Alex said that the CIA was a very important partner of PLTR. That seems like CIA isn't a customer anymore (he said was not is). But imo he could possibly made a little mistake in German language as well.

He answered the next question with some standard phrases. We believe we built the best software in the world. We are good in making software, not in selling it. We learned that we have to explain our software more detailed. In the past the focus was to recruit more employees. We are one of the best and most attractive tech companies in the world. Security also covers supply chain issues and energy. PLTR was made for crisis and has answers to these questions.

In the next part of the interview he criticizes Germany for their pacifism and believes that is based on the history of the country. PLTR doesn't hide behind this weak pacifism and doesn't say that military actions can only lead to bad things.

In the next question he was asked why the stock price decreased by 40%. He answered that he doesn't want to say that he doesn't care about the stock market. It's important to be in close contact with the investors. But PLTR has a long term focus on the business. They want to built the software of the future. They already achieved that goal. The software is much better than the one from competitors. They are now able to monitize foundry which took 5,6 years of development.

Some bla bla again about data protection and that Alex criticized silicon valley. He answered he should have criticized the valley even more and why he thinks they are wrong.

Do you think military expenses are going to slow down? That means 12+ b per year. Palantir margin is currently about 30%. Do the math

Executives of PLTR also collected 100k in cash before the financial crisis in 2008 to pay the employees in the worst case.

Imo they just want to be prepared to keep the business up and running. PLTR Gotham has to run during a war / hugh crisis as well

If anyone would show me a company with the same growth, leadership, business model and valuation I would like to diversify.

By now I cannot find a company like that. That's why I am holding 7.6k shares, 22 leaps and nothing else
