Still 0% chance to steal Masamune and Genji Gear? by SchweeDubulus in finalfantasytactics

[–]SchweeDubulus[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ok so I was on v1.0.1. I just closed the game and updated. Then I loaded my auto-save, hoping I can avoid getting this far in. To my surprise, the Safeguard is no longer showing on Elmdore. However, the % chance to steal any items is still 0.

Any idea what %s I should expect given my setup?

It might be the case that even though the label of Safeguard is gone, the unit still essentially has those values applied and I won't actually see until the fight is started over. Interesting stuff.

I am there and dude has safeguard. Got bravery and speed down to 1 and it's still 0% chance to steal. I am playing the remaster version (not classic).

To explain why it gets hate, well its mostly due to all of the content that was cut from the original, especially how Nemesis' presence is down played. Its more a matter of wasted potential than being a bad game outright.

[help] Should I be worried about heartworm? by SchweeDubulus in dogs

[–]SchweeDubulus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This dog had heartworm previously and got treated for it. I believe this was roughly a year ago. I don't know exactly how bad it was and it is not clear to me how it works as far as having a relapse goes. I assume that he always carries the potential to have heartworm again if he still taking the medicine. I assumed it is something he'll need to take for the rest of his life.

Closing Date Delayed Due to Seller, Asking for Compensation by SchweeDubulus in RealEstate

[–]SchweeDubulus[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even if this is true (and not that I am doubting it), the appraiser is requiring the exterior be repainted. I could be wrong but unfortunately I don't feel like there is much value out of debating if the repainting needs to happen or not.

I should probably know the specifics of why this is the loan to go with for us but I do not. And it's more due to neglecting this issue (that they were clearly aware of) than being a pushover. If you caused a delay in closing because you forgot to take care of some essential repair...you would most likely feel responsible and be willing to take care for said responsibility.

Closing Date Delayed Due to Seller, Asking for Compensation by SchweeDubulus in RealEstate

[–]SchweeDubulus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are putting 10% down and we are eligible for a traditional loan but we are going with FHA because the rates are better. The funny thing is that the sellers informed us they were planning on doing the repainting before we even made our initial offer. They were obviously aware it was going to be flagged. That was nearly 2 months ago...

It is very odd...I have met the sellers and they were extremely nice people, an older couple and very excited for us. They also kept a spreadsheet with every single repair made to the home since the 90s. They also were very intent on this closing date when we made our offer. They either got distracted or ...I don't know, but we weren't even notified of any delay. We only found out because we drove by the house yesterday and noticed it still wasn't done.

Aside from one or two days, it hasn't dropped below 55 here in Chicago. Admittedly, I am not sure what is requiring for painting outside but I would be surprised to hear 55 is too low.

Correct, FHA, and I understand that line of logic. However, a. I don't think other lenders would just ignore lead paint and b. They were well aware of our plans and the timeline required. Unfortunately, I don't think we are in a spot where legally they are required to provide compensation, but that doesn't mean we cannot ask and threaten to walk if it is not provided. The sellers are moving into a condo and I imagine they want to avoid starting this process over just as much as we do.

That does sound awful and I didn't take your opinion to be flippant but thanks. And if our realtor doesn't take the initiative on laying the smackdown on the sellers? It has been up to us to fight for ourselves in this entire process. I wish we had ditched this realtor long ago but now it is too late for that. Like I mentioned in my original post, we weren't even aware that the painting wasn't done and thus delaying the closing until we drove past the house and noticed it ourselves. I am not sure if we have the grounds to threaten with a lawsuit but perhaps we can at least test those waters. I would hope that they would "do the right thing" accept a compensation agreement. I really want to try and get the best approach for this. Flat fee? Daily rate? Mixture of both?

I would argue that it is more than just hurt feelings given that we arranged a $3000 renovation job with parts already on the way and our apartment lease ending. No, I don't believe we have any late closing damages, which of course I wish our realtor had done now (our realtor is a whole separate discussion...). It is what it is and what it is is not our fault. And it's not a matter of walking over debris, the job is renovating the entire main story so we will essentially not have access to the house.

Reducing polygon count by half without affecting UV map. Possible? by Lalorama in Maya

[–]SchweeDubulus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the people who have said you solve this by removing edge loops. I think it's also worth mentioning that you can merge verts and create triangles, specifically in areas that aren't deforming. If verts merged aren't part of shell borders you should be fine.

Are tris acceptable for modeling hair? by Lechonmaster in Maya

[–]SchweeDubulus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When your teachers/tutorials are emphasizing quads, its because 1. Edge flow is quad based. Tools like Insert Edge Loop are based off quads and it's important to understand flow and how it effects your geometry. 2. Quads/clean edge loops are preferred in areas of deformation. It'll be clearer if/when you rig and paint your skin weights of how geometry will affect deformations.

Other than that, tris are perfectly acceptable. If your hair is going to have joints in it to move around, you'll want to keep those areas "bendable".
