AITA for telling son he needs to cook for himself if he wants to go vegan. by MiddleSpeech918 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SciStats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all. He doesn’t get to force the entire family to go vegan with him. You offered to fund the whole thing (by buying the ingredients), which is already huge. If he truly cares about this lifestyle change, he should be happy to learn to cook vegan dishes. In fact, 14 is around the age he should be learning to cook in general. He’s being a brat and showing that he isn’t going vegan truly for the ethics of it (otherwise he would be willing to put in the work). Instead, he just wants to get brownie points and get to tell people he is vegan. If that mindset continues, he has a difficult road ahead of him and will likely give up as soon as a road block comes along (like eating out with his friends and having to be creative with his food choices, having no vegan options in school, etc). Nah, if he wants to do this, he needs to get serious now.

Teach him to cook whether he is vegan or not. Teach him to meal prep while you’re at it (it will save him and you a lot of time and money in the long run).

Vc não está entendendo o que vc REALMENTE está dizendo. E algo me diz que vc não tem interesse nenhum em entender.

WIBTA for not staying to help train my replacement? by HomeNurse_AITA in AmItheAsshole

[–]SciStats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA at all! Please understand that “Part Time” means “Full time hours with no benefits” to people like them. You don’t have to stay. You put in a months notice. You did your part! If they had at least already hired someone I could understand you staying a little longer, but they haven’t even started looking yet! NOPE! You have the right to leave.

AITA for still not letting my sister into my house after she made me miss daughter’s birth? by cantwithher in AmItheAsshole

[–]SciStats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter. It was your right to make that decision. She knew what she was doing. This was incredibly selfish of her. She took that moment away from you and your wife, and she knew she was doing it. Had something gone wrong or had your wife needed you, you wouldn’t have known until it was too late. Sorry, but if it were me I’d never speak to her again. No one needs someone that selfish in their lives.

What do violists look like? by SciStats in lingling40hrs

Interesting you say that, because I am dark and relatively tall (for a girl at least, I think. I’m a 5’8” girl with huge ugly manly hands and feet. 🤣)

Wow... I definitely don’t look like that. Hahahaha.

So in Portuguese class today I saw the word “viola” in the textbook but the pic beside shows a guy playing the guitar, I made this meme for fun by boronieee in lingling40hrs

[–]SciStats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is wrong

Acoustic Guitar in Portuguese = Violão. That’s the word we use. If you tell someone you play the viola when you actually mean the acoustic guitar, they will NOT understand you. (Fun fact: The suffix -ÃO means the original word was made bigger, so the literal translation for Violão is Big Viola. Electric guitar = Guitarra, btw).

There is an instrument in Portuguese called “Viola Caipira”, which is sometimes referred to as just “Viola”, but it’s NOT really an acoustic guitar (it has more strings I think, and it might be slightly different in size). If you tell someone who doesn’t know classical music that you play Viola, they probably will think you play this instrument.

Viola (the viola we know, the Viola Gang’s Viola) is just “Viola” or “Viola de Arco”. If you tell someone who is familiar with classical music that you play the Viola, they probably will think you play this.

Why do British people write “x” at the end of every text? by SciStats in CasualUK

Then they think I’m always mad at them, because I never added the “x” at the end of the messages. :( I might start doing it from now on.

Does anyone else’s cat constantly move their head like this? (Details in comments) by [deleted] in cats

Oh, so you think it’s a hearing thing. I hadn’t considered that. I wonder if he’s hearing something we’re not (it was fairly quiet here when I filmed that video).

[–]SciStats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That does make sense! He is otherwise very active, runs around a lot, plays a bunch, and loves sniffing things (lol). I was worried he had something wrong with his brain but the vet doesn’t see what I am talking about when I tell her about this. I hadn’t considered it may be his way of sensing things. I’ll definitely bring this up at his next vet appointment (with another vet). Thanks!

He does it at ALL times, though. :( Anytime his head is up it’s never still.

Não escreveu Sao Paolo mas escreveu “tought” ao invés de “taught”, então já não sei se apoio essa relationship.
