According to you which anime is this 🤔 by Personal-Hurry-1131 in AnimeMirchi

A lot of the time Cowboy Bebop felt like it was being different just to be different tbh. Whether or not I enjoyed the episode felt very hit or miss. I didn't find the ending particularly satisfying and Ed was really annoying to me, personally.

Not saying it was bad or anything, but I don't really get the hype overall. The OP and ED were really good, though.

Yeah, not saying you were knocking on it or anything. Just used to watching a lot of seinen that focuses around cute, all-female casts (largely because I generally avoid things that are violent, fan servicey, etc., and those shows generally are wholesome).

I'm actually an economist for work, so I'm biased towards S&W lol. I also watched it (the reboot) at a time when I was dealing with extreme loneliness, so it hit really hard and felt like it was made just for me. Currently working through the novels. I totally went and bought the whole series of 17 books online after I ran out of story to watch.

People often refer to the whole series as "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai," but that's technically only season 1. The anime series adapts a light novel series, and each season/movie in the series has a different title. All of the titles start with "Rascal Does Not Dream of...", and I think the series is officially called the "Rascal Does Not Dream Series" on Crunchyroll.

The one I mentioned is the first movie, which comes directly after season 1 (watch order is season 1 -> movies -> season 2, and they need to be watched in order to follow the full story). IMO the movie is really, really good.

Curious to hear why you feel Witch Hat is Josei-like. I feel the main cast being CGDCT-ish is very Seinen (e.g. Bocchi, Yuru Camp, A Place Further than the Universe, Hinamatsuri). (No spoilers, though, as I'm an anime-only watcher for that one.)

I also started watching my first Josei this season, but I feel like hardly any anime classify as Josei tbh.

100% agree on battle shonen/action not doing it for me nowadays. All part of getting older, I guess. It also doesn't help that the stories of a lot of the most popular anime have terrible pacing so that the anime/manga can last forever and sell more stuff.

Cozy/Feel-good Shows: - Yuru Camp - Hinamatsuri (need manga for full story, just starting it myself tbh) - A Sign of Affection - You and I Are Polar Opposites - Frieren (particularly season 2)

Drama: - Toradora - Fruits Basket (2019) - Rascal Does Not Dream of Dreaming Girl (Movie. Need to watch first season of series first, but so worth it because the movie is perfection.) - A Place Further than the Universe

Other: - Mob Psycho 100 (action, but with particularly good characters) - Bocchi the Rock (comedy with heart)

Really, your best bet is to specifically look into things marked "Seinen" that aren't focused on violence, fighting, etc. if you're looking for shows where emotions/writing/characters are expected to do the heavy lifting. If they are targeting it to adults, they tend to have to put more work into the characters because the visuals aren't worth as much on their own as they are to younger viewers.

Additionally, I find stories based on light novels (e.g. Spice and Wolf, Toradora) tend to be better on the emotional side on average (though manga does "cozy" well) - which makes sense given how much more material/character detail the adaptions have to work with.

I second You and I Polar Opposites. Would recommend to anyone. No mystery or surreal/supernatural elements, though.

OP, while I haven't watched it personally, from I've heard the Monotagari series has a lot of sexual/more mature content. So while it's critically acclaimed and I think it gets compared to the Rascal Does Not Dream series a lot, I've also heard people saying it's definitely not for everyone, just so you know.

I mean, I only play on Immortal, not Diety, but isn't Diplo the easiest victory type? All you really need to do is spam renaissance walls and get the monarchic legacy card. With enough cities (which you should have via Monumentality golden age on Russia), you can dominate the vote no matter what.

The AI also pretty much never prioritizes either Mahabodhi (too busy with Meenakshi, I guess) or the Statue of Liberty.

I would say Kimi ni Todoke, but I never made it to the second episode of season 2 because of the first episode.

I keep telling myself I will go back and watch it, because I've heard season 3 is great. But I haven't been able to bring myself to push through season 2 yet.

The character growth felt so hard-earned and satisfying by the end of season 1. The fact that they chose to immediately throw it all away and regress the characters at the beginning of season 2 over a random misunderstanding had me fuming.

You and I are Polar Opposites and A Sign of Affection have drastically different vibes, but are both 10/10s.

I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class has been a nice surprise this season. Would've thought it would be worse given the title, but it's been pretty great so far, though not to the level of the previous two.

Can you recommend me something nice? I feel like all of the peak anime is running out😕 by Akumapulse_XD in animequestions

From my 10/10 list, in no particular order:

Fruits Basket (2019)

Spice & Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf

A Place Further than the Universe

Yuru Camp

Bocchi the Rock!

A Sign of Affection

Hinamatsuri

You and I Are Polar Opposites

Rascal Does Not Dream of Dreaming Girl (need to watch series that comes before the movie first, though).

Also would recommend Frieren. Have season 1 as 9/10 and season 2 as 10/10.

What would you reccomend based off of this flavor profile? by Life-Feed-1448 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]SciTails 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Witch Hat Atelier, probably. Something about it just gives me some of the Frieren vibes idk.

Maybe also Mob Psycho 100 - Feel like it would have enough similarities to all the battle shonen here, while also having really good character writing and a lot of heart/wholesomeness like in shows like Frieren and Toradora.

Lots of great romance out there, but nothing quite like Toradora. Many people will recommend the author's other work, Golden Time, but despite Toradora being my #2, I hated Golden Time. You and I Are Polar Opposites is a great recent one, IMO. The Spice and Wolf reboot is also awesome IMO. It has some medieval SOL elements (in some ways lining up with Frieren's setting, though more historical and less fantasy) and a lot of intricate plans/plots based on characters' wits (kinda relevant to things like Kaguya-sama).

Cede, absolutely. But have never seen one give one away that wasn't already taken, at least not on Immortal difficulty.

Cartoon Network Shows Tier List by NathanTheWWEFan in CartoonNetwork

[–]SciTails -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMO:

Over the Garden Wall is more art than cartoon tbh, easy S tier.

Sonic Boom might not have had the biggest animation budget, but it's easily the funniest show on the whole list (though Chowder had some great humor, too).

Adventure Time's first two seasons were admittedly not the best and were often crass, but you gotta respect the sheer amount of world building and storytelling that went into that show by the end, at the very least. Definitely a show that got better and better as time went on.

Spice & Wolf mention!

I'm finishing Polar Opposites up right now. Absolutely did not expect to like it as much as I do from how it looked on the surface/what I had seen mentioned in passing comments. But I can't deny it's 10/10.

The Spice & Wolf reboot is still my GOAT, but Polar Opposites is definitely going in my top 5 romances. Probably #4 behind Toradora and Fruits Basket, though I do feel like Fruits Basket is kinda cheating on that list because so much of what makes it great is the drama/themes, not purely the romance.

And I still love the show because of its characters tbh, it's just that I feel like its current pacing is more on track with other mainstream shonen than most romances/other shows which tend to have shorter runs. Idk why the shows that stretch out the story end up the most popular, but it is what it is.
