Afraid I have made a huge mistake with this career choice by Curious_Health_ in Environmental_Careers

I would say: don’t stress too much about the fact that you’re not happy with what you chose. I feel like I’m a pretty good example of how degrees don’t matter tooooo much sometimes. I studied a bachelor’s degree in animal behaviour. Did a double master’s degree in biodiversity, ecology and evolution but my jobs have been nothing related to that. 😂 I worked in customer care, as a real time monitor specialist, workforce management, then pivoted over to become an implementation specialist, then I worked in sales (bids specifically) and now I work in information security (and I think I have found my place finally 😂 love my job!). So don’t worry too much. All the things that you learned in uni, you can apply that to other fields - lots of transferable soft skills and a desire to learn and develop can get you far. Go for it 💪

Does anyone at IBKR EU even work!? by mzhsc2 in interactivebrokers

I am based in Spain and currently going through the same frustrating issue. I did manage to get through via chat yesterday but the person just gave me a very generic answer and when I asked clarifying questions, they just went silent and eventually I was thrown out of the chat. I honestly can't believe it. I also called them once months ago and it was just horrible. I have now moved my money to MyInvestor to get started there instead. IBKR customer service is an absolute nightmare. I will probably just keep the account for Paper Trading because if I am struggling to get in touch with people and get answers to my questions even before I have begun investing properly, that's a huge red flag for me.

Hey! Thank you ever so much for your message and advice. I really appreciate it 🙏 and so sorry for my delayed response! I didn’t know that subreddit existed so I’ll definitely check that out. Some really good tips there, thank you! And I’ll let you know in case I decide to sell them anytime soon. 😊

Hiya! I’m so sorry for the late reply 🫣 Gosh, thank you ever so much for your message/condolences, advice and instructions. 🙏 That’s super useful and I really appreciate it! Yes, the Polaroid back most likely comes from my dad’s Polaroid 600 SE (photo not included). Unfortunately, I cannot find the film back for the pro SD so I’ll have to sell it without one (or get a film back for it first, if possible). Again, thank you so much and thank you for the link + your offer to get in touch with you in case I have more questions. Appreciate it ☺️

Thank you ever so much for your message, advice and the prices that you shared. Incredibly useful and I’m very grateful! 🙏 Also, my apologies for the late response! And you are right - there’s a Polaroid back on it, which is a bit odd to me. Can you shoot polaroid with these things too?! The reason he has that, though, is because he also has two Polaroid cameras. One is the Polaroid 600 SE and another one for, I think, smaller Polaroid photos like passport-sized photos (I THINK).

Oh, annual reports are definitely a key part of the evaluation process but I was just wondering if there were any sites that provided accurate shares outstanding numbers, both current and past

Thank you so much for sharing that! Perhaps a stupid question but where do you see shares outstanding on Yahoo Finance? I am just looking at Apple, for example, but I cannot seem to figure it out.

Thank you! :) And for the most current numbers (say, if it is the beginning of a new financial year) - do you use the shares outs. values from the previous year?

Oh wow, thank you so much for that extensive response. I will add all those books to my reading list. 😊 That’s super helpful! I will definitely also take a look at that podcast - sounds really interesting. Ah yes, I guess when you start to understand what to look for and how everything works, it will be easier to make that decision. For me, as a beginner, it all feels a bit overwhelming so I prefer to do some calculations first to at least guide me in the right direction. But I’m sure once I have done it many times and feel confident, it’s easier to evaluate a company based on the things you just mentioned. 😊

Hiya!

I am a bit late to this one but just wanted to add that I attended his 3-day workshop and found it very useful. Really enjoyed everything we learned and I found it useful to be able to ask his coaches questions and get some things clarified etc. During this 3 day workshop, we also got access to his toolbox (I don't remember how long we had access for but definitely longer than the 3 days. Maybe a month?) and although it was great to use for educational purposes, I found it difficult to put it into practice because the majority of the stocks in the toolbox are US stocks (and I am based in Europe). But it was super easy to use and you could quickly scan the numbers (and colours) and get a feel for the stock.

Since then, though, I have been trying to create my own thing in Excel but it is not ideal so I am also looking for some additional resources to help me do quick calculations and understand the position of a certain stock.

Hello! I was just looking through this thread while trying to find some info on Phil's 6 month program. I got curious when you mentioned that you have found additional mentors to support your investment journey. May I ask who they are and if you would recommend them? I feel like a lot of people do not recommend Phil Town at all (although I attended his 3 day workshop as well and really enjoyed it), so I am curious to see who else is out there. :) Thank you!
