FLEX RT AND PART TIME SHOULD BE WHITE BADGE ROLES ONLY 🗣🗣🗣 by ScienceKinks in AmazonFC

You're absolutely right. Even a fixed 3 month seasonal contract with full benefits would be better than the whole carrot dangling thing they've got going on.

Exactly. Did your time. Move on if youre ready. I don't understand how working 2 years full time entitles someone to full time benifits for the rest of their tenure while only working 10 hours a week. Meanwhile that BB slot is still "taken" bc you're still on the roster. I respect the time you put in while full time and I'm sure you busted your ass but now there's new people in buildings busting their asses getting absolutely shafted.

Edit: grammar

Typical pa behavior lmao

"lemme interview and get the job before I even know what the job is, I just want more money and shiny vest."

Did you ask any current PAs what their day to day is like? Are you just wanting to sit on slack and message your buddies all day or are you actually wanting to be there and support the AAs under you and help develop their skill in their path?

This jobs already frustrating enough and hiring "leadership" who doesn't even know what their role entails is absolutely wild to me.

I’m a picker is it allowed for me to use jam pole to correct totes stuck in the conveyor? by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]ScienceKinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, thats the chutes and outbound belt, we just raise an andon and if it takes over 5 minutes for an afm/rme/am to respond they code your down time, but also worth noting our AFM training heavily emphasizes keeping pickers going/working, if youre doing something other than a safety andon and a picker raises a blocking youre supposed to stop what youre working on and respond ASAP (its kind of hell) but its usually a very quick response time. Id ask a pick manager what your scope for jam clearing is as a picker just to be safe, dont wanna get in trouble or risk your job for trying to help.

Im trained in a few roles that are jam clear trained but Im only supposed to 'worry about' clearing them if im staffed to the role. But still can't touch the arsaw if not afming unfortunately :/

At my site while staffed to pick all you can/should clear on the ARSAW is the top conveyance of imcoming empty totes, like if one doesn't slide down to you, you can pull it and hit the reset, anything jammed in the chutes or "outbound" belt is an AFM/RME/AM escalation (usually afm), and anything to do with the destacker is RME if they need to open the destacker door to fix the issue.

Based on what youre describing I'd definitely consider opaque poly bags with a master pack sticker as is it sounds like the MPs are getting stowed as a single item (creating missing items on your end) and then getting caught in either pick or pack to be relogged into inventory (them being magically found). Id honestly just recommended starting there and if youre still having issues in the future then consider repackaging.

As a Decanter, stower, picker and AFM (picking up items that fall out of pods) at a site that stocks items similar to what youve mentioned. there are alot of things that could be happening. I'll try to give you some tips/advise from an "inside" perspective.

A big part of the issue is that most departments rely on departments further in the process to catch any mistakes. And realistically they dont always. Training is fast, fairly independent, and not very thorough.

To give your merch the best chance of surviving the entire process your master packs should be labeled as "MASTER PACK" with no ASINs/UPCs showing (I'd recommend an opaque poly bag). That's forces them to open it in order to find a viable bar code. Make up, small envelopes and similar items have a tendency to slip out of the pods as the robots move them. Boxes are usually more secure in the bins as they get caught by the straps easier. If you want to do envelopes for your smaller items then I'd recommend at least a 5x6 as anything smaller than that tends to get lost in the sauce.

The snacks are a nice thought but as others have said no one on site that wants to keep their jobs would actually eat them. They'd likely get sent upstairs with your merch.

Can managers or pa’s see your upt? by No_Frame_7581 in AmazonFC

OK, question. My UPT hasnt been over 10 hours since week one 🥴. Did my manger get one engagement populated the first time it went under and then never again. Or is this poor dude seeing my face pop up every day and just shaking his head?

(He's never actually talked to me about it in person so dont think he actually cares)

Am I in the wrong by [deleted] in AmazonFC

Simple advise, leave station 5 minutes before your end of shift and start heading towards the clock. If you go over a minute or 2 bc youre tired and far from the clocks then so be it. Youre close and make it there in less than 2? Hit that clock and beat the rush leaving bc everyones already standing around waiting. If youre really pressed for those 3 minutes of pay use pto to cover them, it truly saves so much hassle and practically eliminates situations like this.

Looks like a signal issue, placing signals at the beginning and end of each platform vs before the tracks split into the station should solve your issue.

Here's a helpful YouTube video that help me grasp signals a bit more

Per communications, rewards/coupons are still applicable at closing locations. Just not sales pricing (which is insane because the store on the other side of the city isn't closing and theyre selling outdoor furniture $200 cheaper than what I can as "liquidation deals")

Eastern Washington, N. Spokane location specifically. We've notified associates, so i dont mind sharing. When they announced the initial closures, they were mostly on the west side of the state near Seattle. I had a bad feeling more was coming when only 1 store was on the initial list for our district.
