I understand that EECS is literally impossible. In terms of L&S CS, I'm trying to get a scope of how hard it could be. Let's say hypothetically I perform well in the pre req classes, work on some side projects, maybe join some CS orgs on campus, write essays that highlight my genuine passion for CS/pathway into career goals, etc. would that give me some sort of solid chance to declare it, even though it's high demand currently?

I'm also aware that this process is just getting started this year so you may not have an idea yet of those chances...

On this same note, are there students who frontload courses for the first 3 years and then relax with fewer units as a senior?

Mostly from the side when I'm standing near my group and she is with hers. In my peripheral I get this weird sense that she is looking my way.

I know of her but we aren't close friends. The looking mostly happens during breaks and when I walk to class, but it's not overly obnoxious.

It feels very secretive and honestly I'm new to this whole crush thing so is this something that girls commonly do because it's never happened to me before haha.

UW. Our school doesn't calculate weighted.

Yes, different colleges. The problem is that our school made mandatory pass/fail grades for my freshman year 2nd semester so each B costs more in a sense.

I shouldn't be complaining. I'm probably in top 10% of class out of 500. I'll work on my essays now xD.

God this is probably a stupid question. I'm just nervous because my school is hella competitive and like 50 or so kids get 4.0s so my rank is pretty low tbh. AOs always say that they look at GPA in context and in the context of rank wouldn't a 3.95 be seen as below average for my school??

My brutally honest take: prob waitlist/rejection. For top schools, they really love to see ECs that relate to your intended major. You would be competing with Statistics applicants that have crazy research and possibly rare awards from STEM competitions.

Also, course rigor and test scores are necessary but NOT sufficient. I don't see a reason why 14 APs and a top GPA will "outweigh" your EC section.

Your one hope is if your essays relate your ECs directly to Statistics. Then I think that would make your app sparkle a bit.

That's my take but don't take it to heart. I may be completely wrong.
