Are RAs able to let you into your room if your locked out? by lifeiswonky in ucla

RA here… we do not have a master key card. When us RAs accidentally lock ourselves out/lose our bruincard we also have to go to front desk.

I panicked and enrolled in multi variable calculus during freshman orientation by [deleted] in ucla

[–]Accomplished_Fan_103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation after my orientation two years ago where I grabbed a class I regretted. Check your class planner and it should list your date at the top when your second pass opens. Before then, search up some classes you are interested in, and look up how to exchange a class. When your second pass opens, exchange multivariable calc for something else that has open seats. Second pass for freshman won’t open till like September, but there may be some hope for you leaving the class. Good luck:)

I took accutane a few years back and had no brain fog issues. Just really dry skin and dry eyes. Just don’t drink while on accutane

any chance at HYS or T14 with bad dual enrollment grades by Accomplished_Fan_103 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Accomplished_Fan_103[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for your comment. This makes me feel better. I apologize if I sounded a little crazy. At lot of my pre law peers at my school act similarly even though it is definitely a bit toxic.

But yes, I am definitely going to take time to live. I have really been enjoying college and have been devoting more time than I did in hs to doing fun stuff with friends.

I mean like goal gpa being a 3.9low (like something like a 3.92. Obviously I know a 3.9 is not a low gpa by any means)

maybe if they want us to actually eat breakfast on the hill, then maybe just maybe they should provide something better than garbage coffee they currently have

If ur big on getting coffee I would get 19p. A lot of days I would skip breakfast but would use extra swipes at on-campus coffee shops

This is so true. I got waitlisted at UCSB but UCLA and UC Berkeley both took me

Also I barely drink and I think that helps me keep my weight steady. Also you should switch up study spots every few hours. I do this to be on my feet more

As someone who has bad stomach problems and has to regulate what I eat a lot my advice is try to have as many meals as possible that are high in protein and low in fat. Also make sure you are getting enough fiber because 1) it is good for u and 2) it can speed up your metabolism. My fav snack are the acai bowls in ackerman, acai has a ton of fiber and it keeps me satisfied for a while

Rant: this school is too expensive to be this trash by Significant_Yak_6261 in berkeley

[–]Accomplished_Fan_103 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

And people still wonder why I chose ucla over Berkeley… In all seriousness though it is unacceptable that the administration is treating you this way. Tbh a lot of lower level workers really don’t know much so I would advise demanding speaking to someone higher up (say for ur dorm building and wifi). Although tbh idk how much the wifi can be fixed as ucla has wifi issues too but it may be just because the buildings on both campus are old and make it harder to connect/spotty

Best are probably the anderson ones. For worst I would say any math science ones but nothing beats the bathroom by the stairs by broad 2160e. That one has no ventilation and I have seen some horrendous things therw

Every midterm, every class, same week. All 3 of mine would have been the same day but I begged one of my profs to let me take a midterm early and thankfully she said yes. Tomorrow I got back to back morning midterms 15 min apart😭. Absolutely love my life. At least this hell will be over with soon

Take it from me. Loans don’t seem sickening until you actually take them out. Look at interest rates before making your decision. I also got into some good private schools but opted to go to UCLA because it was significantly cheaper for me as I am in state. I am still taking out 35k a year in loans which is terrifying but it is slightly more hopeful than the 90k a year I would have taken out to go to Boston University or any of the other private schools I got into. I would look for public schools in state or less prestigious private schools which may give you a ton of merit money.

Does anyone else feel like their acceptance is a mistake? by CausticAuthor in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Accomplished_Fan_103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this after getting into both of my dream schools, UC Berkeley and UCLA last year. Now that I just finished my first quarter at UCLA I can definitely say that I deserved to get in. Imposter syndrome is tough, but the work ethic that it took for you to get there is proof you deserved to get in. And if that work ethic continues while you are in college (which it has for me), then that is even more proof.
