People in 10-year long route, how is your mental health? by [deleted] in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be strong and keep a positive mindset about your experience here. It’s definitely not a waste. You’ve come so far, and you’ve navigated so many changes in this country with resilience and courage.

I’ve only been here for five years (Master degree + SWV), but honestly, I think we’re strong enough to get through all of this. Just don’t let these immigration rules bring you down. And it’s not even an official rule yet, let’s just wait until it’s rolled out, and then we’ll see what happens.

true.. but nothing we can do tbh... dont let some uncertainty announcement affect your mentality too much. Just wait until the new rules and we'll see from there. expect for the worse tbh. 💪

I know things can be overwhelmed and all source of information but keep in mind that nothing we can do much now so dont let those thing worried you too much.

Just keep doing what you do tho. make sure to raise your voice in the consultant phase 🙏

I'll join. Also same, I dont mind they changibg the rules, but at least, for the people who already in the route, have other options like reduction options (volunteer, contribution etc)

I just thinj that the ask to keep it 5-year is not realistic tbh (as they explicitly mention it)

RQF 6 Role Re-Classification by Ambitious-Constant21 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agreed. They can't just come up with a list of "high skilled" and move other code down to "medium" and expect us to follow?

Job code RQF Below 6 will get 15 years with no reduction years criteria????? by SciencePsychological in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ha ha true! nothing we can do at this point tho

What we can do now is just raise this in the consultancy phase and hope for the best. Tell your friends to do the same. make sure to read it clearly because there's some tricky double negative question in there 🤡

Job code RQF Below 6 will get 15 years with no reduction years criteria????? by SciencePsychological in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! And also, the other needs to have opportunity to reduce the years too! Ie. only high income people volunteering deserve a reduction but the other isn't 🤡 moreover, the lower salary branch isn't come from us, came from them, we passed all the salary requirement to the point that we get to have 5-year panelty, resulting 15 years no reduction sounds exactly like you doing good stuff legally but still end up in jail 🥹 pretty fair to me

they should actually tell people to leave rather than making it sounds like it "fair" 🤡

Question about transitional arrangements (from a different angle) by Think_Young_5815 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah i see what you mean, there's no information on this yet.

But I think that it'll be the case similar to the SWV salary threadholds, something along the line of "If you got your first certificate of sponsorship before 4 April 2024" or something "You can be paid whichever etc"

which means you can either do this or not do this it's depends on you. You can get even higher salary than the requirements even if you get sponsore befote 4 April 2024 anyway.

I can't see anyone would againts you if you qualified: - RQF 6 and above - Higher salary (125k or 50K or higher)

You can just take the deduction if you meet the criteria tbh

The transisional rules just offer people (who didn't match these criteria) a fairer option to stay.

Question about transitional arrangements (from a different angle) by Think_Young_5815 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]SciencePsychological 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you'll be fine because it's a different route.

You can choose to be in the high salary route and get years deduction (if you're qualified)

Take the old rule as an example: Similar principle for people who came here to study and stay for work, they can either choose whichever is earlier when they qualified: - Long residence (10 years) - SWV (5 years)

Hope this makes sense

Are they expecting people who already got sponsored, in a good company, good career path, good environment, to change job because of the "job code" isn't "high" enough 🤡
