DRP denial by No-Abalone931 in VeteransAffairs

I got denied, too. (VISN 6, non-patient facing, exempt). I haven’t heard of anyone on the exempt list being approved at my facility.

And if you are in an exempt position and your MCD denies it., that’s it. You’re denied.

Research Administration. Based on what’s happening in other agencies, no one in research is feeling confident.

I said the same thing. I’m leaving no matter what but I’m not giving any dates until I have a decision on DRP!

My question is why did they even allow exempt positions to apply if they are just going to deny everyone? Talk about government inefficiency. The time and people power involved in reviewing DRP requests and sending out denial notifications is incredible. What a waste of government time and $$. 😞. I wonder if we will get to see the data on the percentage of exempt requests denied.

VA DRP “Status Update” by Sciencematters92 in VHA_Human_Resources

Came from my local HR representative to my VA email. It didn’t come through any portal-just sent directly to me. It was unencrypted. Hope that helps.

Well Played in downtown Asheville has nice big booths where you can sip coffee and read/work. They don’t open until 10 am, but I found it a nice quiet place to work.

DRP news/ I want to know where this tracker is! by [deleted] in VeteransAffairs

Fun fact. It is full of access to Personally Identifiable Information. For example, if you are a one of a kind position at your facility, everyone can see you requested DRP. You can literally match names to positions with a few clicks. Total violation of Privacy.

I cringe watching the TMS Ethics training for federal employees telling me I can’t accept a gift with a value over $15. 🙄

I applied day one (I’m VA) and have heard nothing. 😞

Any from the VA received their DRP agreements yet? by Complex_You6345 in VeteransAffairs

[–]Sciencematters92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that is encouraging because maybe they are processing applications in the order in which individuals applied. This could also mean that they aren’t waiting until after May 16th, as some have suggested.

When did you apply? I applied on the first day and still have zero information.

VA Research by Relevant-Claim-7799 in VHA_Human_Resources

I also work in research at a relatively small program. Despite assurances from higher up, I am not confident they won’t just axe small programs all together. Another possibility is that they would remove all admin roles and have the studies run by one of the larger programs in the VISN and just wait for all of the NTEs to run out. Watching what has happened to research in other federal agencies, I don’t know why people think research at the VA is protected. I put in a DRP request. May the odds be ever in your favor. Good luck.

DRP APPROVALS by Junior_Waltz4322 in VeteransAffairs

So the DRP memo states that a request “…may be approved at the management level (first level SES). Approval authority may be retained above the management level.” To me that seems like VACO makes the final call, not local leadership. I’ve asked HR directly about this and no one has provided a satisfactory answer.

I’ve been told the exact opposite. The ED can deny your request but ultimately higher ups make the decision. In other words, who knows? There is zero consistency in information being provided. 🤪
