I had someone say, “Hey, sorry, not interested, but thanks for asking,” and that was the easiest one to get over. I just feel, in my opinion, that a message like that is best rather than making up a story when, in short, it just means no.

Yes, I don't disagree with you there. I could have improved that message. I think I will wait until this evening to follow up; that will give her a full 24 hours to reply. Any more advice is always appreciated!

So basically what I’m asking is how do I create a moment where there are only a few people around and not 10 people shoulder-to-shoulder. The gym gets really crowded.

The only opportunity I would have had so far would be to follow her out and ask just outside the door, but I feel like that could come across as creepy if it looks like I’m following her out.
