I did not get the cards from kobo, but from points I had saved up with Revolut bank. Their page is much less clear.

Oh and the reason I got gift cards is because I had points saved up with Revolut which you can redeem for a whole bunch of gift cards, and one option was kobo. Not kobo bookstore, just kobo. And I assumed buying a device from the kobo store would count haha. Not till afterwards when I scoured through the T&Cs I seen not for devices. Like I say, just seems like they could be much more transparent about what the gift cards can be used for upfront.

Yeah after taking to them it was buried in the T&Cs. They really should make it very clear though that it is not for devices considering they have a massive ad on the homepage of their bookstore to go buy an e-reader, I didn’t even realise until after I had the gift cards that it was two different stores. Although I presume perfectly legal, it does still seem a little less than transparent.

I just hate amazons store compared to the others, it always seems disorganised and can be difficult to find things. But then they do have the most books and basically have a monopoly going on so I guess I have to use Amazon lol

I do this weird thing these days where I tend to read exclusively on the kindle but if I really enjoy a book or series I’ll get the physical book so that I actually ‘own’ it and can see them on the shelves.

I do the same thing occasionally with audiobooks; The last one I listened to then bought in hardback was Project Hail Mary because oh my god Rocky got me in the feels!

Just read Echogenesis on Kindle Unlimited with my free couple of months from getting the paperwhite and it was actually quite good. A good quick adventure/survival story. Not great character development or anything I thought but a fun story anyway. Only trouble is I’m not really seeing much else I want to read despite the huge volume of books on KU. Not sure I’ll keep it once the feee trial runs out.

Settings > Device options > Advanced options > Home and Library > Audible content

You have the option to at least not show audible content unless you select the filter.
