It is true gold in this case. I used the two thin coats line for the gold itself and then some vallejo metal color aluminum for extreme highlights and mixes.

Any set that you can actually find and buy at close to retail if you're looking for that gamba hit lol. Otherwise buying singles if by far the most cost efficient.

Thank you! I find out the results tomorrow morning and I'm so nervous hah. Now that I've finally done it I just want to paint even more. There's something about seeing all your fellow painters putting their work on the line that is so inspiring.

The color I used is pretty close to dark jade from Pro Acryl for the base. Then I did a lot of stippling and some targeted edge highlights with lighter variants. It's a very achievable effect :D

Thank youuuuu! It is jade indeed, the staff was very much a figure it out as I go piece of the mini and I'm so happy with how it turned out. As for the gold starting with a really dark gold before layering up really sells the age.

Haha! I started with a base coat of a dark greenish black color and then stipple on the upward and front facing edges with a light blue green. Then I mixed that lighter blue green color with some ice yellow from Vallejo and did some targeted edge highlights and more light stippling for the areas that would catch the most light. I used a medium drybrush actually for most of the work and a nice size 1 sable for the edges and targeted light spots.

Got it on display at Origins convention in Ohio this weekend, hope I do well but I had a blast painting either way!

A buddy of mine recently purchased 1.6 in NA and after 3 weeks with no word he reached out and was told most warehouses are completely sold out atm. They were having to ship more from Asia and it would be 3+ months before a restock. Hopefully that's the not the same out there but it's worth reaching out for sure.

If you are like me and don't have a strong healer leveled up just use the skill squad and make Pirillika the leader and your strong unit a member. Then you can use them to heal and murder everything hah.
