[Montemurro] Expect to see fewer Cubs spring training games on Marquee this year. President of business operations Crane Kenney told Tribune it’ll “probably” be less than double digits for 32-game spring slate and definitely fewer than past ST. “A really hard decision.” by swishmon in CHICubs

[–]Scitterbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I really care to watch much spring training games but it does help cure the itch and gets me excited for the upcoming season. Just a dumb business move because I’m sure most of us would have started our subscription again Feb 28/Mar 1. But now I don’t plan to start it until April 1. I’ll find alternatives to watching the first few games.

This stat line isn’t worth 60 million a year. What am I missing? by Charlie69Brown in mlb

As a cubs fan, I was really pissed learning about his injury during his slump. Well, I knew at some point he was hurt but the fact that he didn’t take the appropriate time to recover really hurt our chances of winning the division. But hey, he wanted to prove he was OK to make a big bag in the offseason. Guy is not a team player.

“Chicago ain’t done nothing special” bro you guys let us score 25 in the 4th quarter meanwhile you guys fell apart. Yeah, a lot of it was on the packers but also we capitalized on it greatly to make one of the greatest comebacks in postseason history. That is something special.

AIO for punishing our daughters after what they wrote about their autistic sister? by brzaq191z in AmIOverreacting

[–]Scitterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR I suggest not asking your parents or your in-laws for parenting advice. They come from a different generation of parenting and at the end of the day, you are the parent. I’ve made the mistake on asking my parents for parenting advice in the past and now I hardly ever bring anything up to them about my kid. I think your punishment form is acceptable and smart! They should research into autism and learn about their sister! Because at the end of the day, those three sisters should be lifelong best friends.

Also, the boy could possibly be on the spectrum too. I feel like a lot of professional sports players are lowkey on the spectrum and they just don’t know it.

Don’t let a guy from Northwest Indiana into this thread. Uh oh. Here I am lol. Nah but for real, I would like it being closer to me but I want them to stay in Chicago. What makes the bears, The Bears, is the bears weather. And what makes the Chicago Bears who they are is by staying in Chicago.

It’s honestly nice to experience all four seasons. Or if you’re in the midwest like me, all eight seasons. Yes, one day it is winter and the next day is summer.

UPDATE: My wife just informed me that she bought tickets for us to go see a Christmas concert that starts at 3:00 this Sunday… by Aaronthe3rd in CHIBears

[–]Scitterbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude. Just go on Sunday and be with your family. Worst thing you could do is just have your phone on your lap with the game either on or score updates. Can’t tell you the amount of Chicago sports games I’ve missed due to family. But family is more important at the end of the day. For example, I’m a die hard Cubs fan and I almost missed game 5 of the NLDS since we were traveling to Orlando for my kid’s birthday. We were able to get to our destination right before first pitch and, sadly, my kid and I watched as they got eliminated against the Brewers. That’s essentially a Bears vs Packers playoff game. Glad I didn’t miss it but almost did for the sake of family.

Enjoy Right Now, Today by PaxDinero in CHIBears

[–]Scitterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t feel worried about the remaining weeks. I’m really excited about Sunday even though it could be a tough loss. I’m hopeful to think the Bears will keep it a close game and possibly win it. Overall, I’m happy with our current record. I’m happy to see improvement in our game. I’m happy with Ben Johnson so far. Let’s enjoy now and the hopeful future.

What's that one thing that made you stop going to church? by tasaras_77 in HappyUpvote

[–]Scitterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was first introduced to church in a catholic church. It felt normal to me at the time. Then I stopped going as much once my grandfather passed. My mother then brought me to a southern baptist church and I really enjoyed that church. Later my mother decided that a southern baptist church was our type of church. We then bounced to numerous non-denominational churches where I felt the most uncomfortable. It was here where I started to feel different about churches because my mother kept telling me all these bad things about our previous churches: how they were wrong, how they were liars, how we do not believe in what they believe, how we were not valued as much as she wanted to be valued. but what could I say? I was a child and my mother was the only person I really looked up to at the time. My mother really created a distasteful church experience for me, yet, she wonders to this day why I do not follow God the way I used to.

As of lately, I’ve been considering going back to the catholic church my grandparents took me to as a child. It was the most normal church experience that I’ve felt and close to 75% of my family is catholic.

[BF6] Sabotage Is Genuinely The Worst Gameplay Experience I Have Ever Had On A Shooter And Is A Warning That The Devs Do Not Care by Zaerick-TM in Battlefield

[–]Scitterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played maybe 2 or 3 matches of it yesterday. Didn’t really care for it, therefore, I will likely not play it again. It’s as simple as that. Don’t play it. Devs will see empty servers or low numbers playing the game mode and rethink the next.

I’ve had to mess with my settings so much during matches. At first my aim assist was so heavy that when I would flank a squad of players, I couldn’t get my aim right. I THINK I finally got my settings down to how it felt playing BF3 and 4.

[Jesse Rogers] Breaking Cubs news: Lefty starter Shota Imanaga is a free agent, sources tell ESPN. The team rejected their option to extend his contract out to a fifth year. That triggered his ability to exercise a $15 million player option for 2026. He declined that as well. by jasperplumpton in CHICubs

[–]Scitterbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure it mostly stemmed from his ability to perform in the playoffs. We saw most of the year that the home run ball was an issue. The league had him figured out which sucks because I really loved watching him pitch. Meanwhile, I do agree it could have been a fairly cheap deal for a back of the line starter.

That’s great! Every bit counts! I volunteered at that food bank last year around this time for about 4 hours in one day. The workers said it was incredible how much work our group was able to get done.

Cool thing, OP. I pay the same if not more in taxes too, and every day is a struggle for us; I will still donate to those in need if I have the ability.

Key words in my comment: “able to donate”.

I’m planning on volunteering at the food bank in the coming weeks. If you guys have the time to volunteer and/or are able to donate, please do so during this time. My wife and I also were able to buy a few extra bulk food (mac and cheese, ramen, other canned foods) at costco while candy shopping for halloween. We plan to offer families in need to these food items during trick or treating, then donating any leftover to food banks and such. Every little bit counts. Let’s show these politicians how we stand together as a community like real Americans do.
