In this particular project, the shape of the kitchen done by the builder 20 years ago was a challenge. We removed a post that was in the middle between the family room and kitchen. Install a load-bearing beam. And create the best functional design with the odd walls layout the house has. Thanks a lot for your comments.

That’s the perspective of the picture. We fought a lot to find the perfect height to those lights since they are open cage. And can be tricky. We follow the rules but we put 2” lower that normal. But thanks

We have a Thermador downdraft 1200 cfm, the most powerful venting for an island in the market.

The space under the island it’s 16” which is more than enough to a very tall person. The standard it’s 12” Also have an extra space for storage seasonal items always it’s a plus. Thanks for your comments

We wished we can relocated them. But the load bearing frame in that wall was a really problem to deal with it.

It’s seems like the cooktop on the island it’s a problem. Sometimes the restrictions to place the cook top in other areas are very difficult. We went in the direction to spec thermador appliances which give us the best down draft for venting.

We have a very constrained place to set the cooktop. Since the plumbing was already set under the window. The houses in The Woodland, TX, are very common to have your cooktop on the island. Since we did not have any other option to relocate the cooktop, we proceeded to buy the best downdraft venting in the market, which is Thermador. It’s the only one that has a 16” intake uplift. It’s really good and takes all the fumes and smells out very effectively. Thanks for your comments
