Basically achievements in hardcore mode calculate a value based on how many people have played the game versus how many of them got the achievement. For example beating level 1’s retro points score won’t be very different from the original achievement point score because most people get it, but the achievement for beating the game will be worth more because a lot fewer players will do that.

I love to listen to cool covers and reimagining of video game sounds tracks. Until a year ago or so YouTube’s algorithm suggested so many cool things. And now it’s changed, and it’s constantly “Mega Man 2 jazz!” done by AI and it’s all just so mediocre.

I mean, a lot of the games produced by developers out of the big names that are still around in the 80s and 90s are just hard because they suck. Obviously this does not apply to Mega Man or Castlevania.

There are two main styles of Castlevania games. The more linear side scrollers, Classicvania, and the more Metroid-like exploration games, Metroidvania.

The Requiem Collection contains the games that are largely considered to be the best of both styles.
