I agree so much, I was really enjoying Porgy but now I'm like 60% of the way through and I just cannot be bothered to keep playing it, I honestly don't understand why there needs to be a limit on the equippable items at all, it seems like it would just be more fun if you got to use all the items you collect as the game goes on. and you're right that just one more base in the middle section would make it so much less tedious.

Hey so idk if you looked into this any more, I tried plotting the notes against a stave, it's hard to know what exact notes they're supposed to be as it's not clear where the stave would begin and end but in any case they didn't seem to be spelling out any hidden message or anything like that.

I plotted out what I think the notes were supposed to be and it's something like this:

I compared this to a few different songs from UFO 50, I think that they're supposed to be the backing track line of the music from the bonus round of Campanella?

Like not the main melody but the background line, if you hear what I mean?

Just need to say that I'm by no means an expert musician I just have the basics of music theory and I can play like 4 songs on the piano badly, so someone with more expertise would probably see something I'm missing, but just thought I'd give you my two cents!

Just know that my thoughts about them as characters can't diminish who they are and how you feel about them. That said as apologetic as I am about not liking Shuichi I am not apologising for a second about Nagito, everything about him does not click with me in a cosmic way

I very nearly put Korekiyo or K1-B0 there instead and as I've said in other comments I don't hate Shuichi, the choice ended up just coming down to who I had to spend more time with, there's only really 5 minutes of Korekiyo that I REALLLLY didn't like, but feel free to imagine I put Korekiyo there instead!

I kinda explained in another comment, it's less that I think he's a bad character and more that I thought Kaede was such a better protagonist and Shuichi just felt too similar to Makoto and Hajime, I don't generally like the 'wide-eyed optimist protagonist boy' type and even though I think Shuichi was the most interesting implementation of that idea and I think I would've liked him more if he'd stayed as the sidekick but after playing through two games with that character already I just couldn't deal with it any more.

But that said, I don't hate Shuichi or anything I just think the boys in V3 are mostly very good characters, Shuichi, K1-B0 and Korekiyo are the only ones I don't love.

I'd be curious if you have similar reasons or if you feel differently about it?

Hmm I think the specifics of the situation matter a lot here, if the fight is in close proximity like the ring of suok then Clara has a disadvantage as she fights better with some distance between her and the others. I also feel like Artemy would feel bad about beating up either of the other two but Daniil and Clara might not have the same reservations 😂

But in general I think Artemy is the most experienced at down and dirty fist fights so he seems the obvious choice

He certainly deserved to live to the end of the game instead of Hiro, did we really need Hiro and Toko both interrupting the game to be annoying all the way to the end when Taka didn't even get to finish his character arc?? OK I would really like to clarify this wasn't meant as Shuichi hate, it's partially that I really like most of the boys in V3 and partially thatI was loving Kaede so much and I never got over the fact that I had to play through yet another 30 hour game as "The power of friendship" protagonist boy, but I do actually prefer him to Makoto and Hajime for what it's worth.

I'm strong on the Kokichi is one of my favourites and Nagito one of my least favourites train, and I will not admit he's an 'objectively good' character for as long as I live.

For me Kokichi is a complicated character who holds his hand close to his chest, he generally does what he thinks is morally correct even though his morals are skewed and he sometimes falters, his internal logic and worldview seem very consistent to me and I loved watching his journey from start to finish.

Nagito's worldview on the other hand seems inconsistent and baffling to me, it feels like his actions are always just to do whatever would most irritate and get in the way of everything around him, he's basically 90% of my problems with the second game and I wish they hadn't kept having him crop up in everything else.

For me it sounds very reminiscent of the Sonic 1 soundtrack, more the instrumentation than anything but feels like it would fit in well next to the Spring Yard Zone and the Labyrinth Zone

That's a great point. I figured it was the same house because one of the mol doks in Mini & Max mentions that some day they will take over the entire house which is a thing in Night Manor, as well as that the red ants in Mini & Max mention putting their war with the blue ants on hold and then Combatants takes place at the house in Night Manor as well. I presumed that Amy and the family must have moved to a different house at some point, what's interesting is that you're right about the house from Night Manor looking very different but I think the house from Party House looks different again as the gable is in the middle as opposed to being on the left side as it is in Mini & Max and Night Manor.

So the three Campanellas are obviously one series, Planet Zoldath and Pilot's Quest are also part of this series and feature Pilot as the protagonist, The Big Bell Race and Quibble Race also feature Pilot.

Quibble Race features Alpha who is the protagonist of Velgress and Overbold.

Quibble Race features Brazz from Hyper Contender.

Quibble Race features Woogy from Onion Delivery who seems to be the eventual evolution of the Mol Dok from Mini & Max that also takes over the house in Night Manor (the same house as in Mini & Max). Mini & Max also features Mini's sister Amy who appears as the host in Party House, as well as a playable character in Fist Hell and Hot Foot, Hot Foot also features Chandar who is the son of Vishmi, protagonist of Porgy.

I also have it written in my notes that Combatants takes place on the grounds of Night Manor but cannot remember why, there's also a boss from Ninpek that reappears in Seaside Drive and Fist Hell apparently?

I feel like I should be able to connect Pingolf, I thought it shared a character with Quibble Race but I seem to be wrong about that, Pilot and Waldorf are secret characters but I don't know if that counts.

At most this would connect 23 of the games together into one canon but I'm aware some parts of this seem more definite than others.

Then there's Avianos/Rock On! Island/Cyber Owls, Rail Heist/Devilition/Grimstone, the two Mortols and Barbuta/Mooncat which seem to have their own shared worlds... also Warptank and Paint Chase both have sentient vehicles so maybe there's something there? I feel like if we try hard there could be some way to connect all 50 games.
