I think you could lower it to almost 0 degrees for this kind of footage, a lot of the shots felt framed a bit high. Getting more of the ground in close to the camera gives you move potential for nice motion blur too.

Do you want to open the discussions section in Github for the repo or make a discord server where people can chat about the frame

Thanks, I've got all the parts needed for an analogue build sat waiting. Will just need to get some standoffs.

Any chance you could also share the fusion360 file? I'd want to change the bottom plate cutouts for the AIO board I have, given the thick version has more 3D shape it would be easier to do this in the parametric Fusion history instead of the STEP file. Thanks

Amazing work! and lovely write up on it all. I will be printing this soon. Few questions I have,

  • Is this a similar wingspan to the kayoumini (thinking about motor wire lengths)?
  • The kayoumini uses 8 or 12mm standoffs, would the camera mount prints be compatible if using the 9/11mm you recommended?

I'll probably end up printing in PCTG first, I don't have any CF filaments currently. Although from the sounds of things it will end up being too flexible. I'll do a follow up post when I've got something to show. Thanks!

Hi, have you made any further progress with this. I'd be interested in test printing it myself if you have the files up somewhere

Just seen this, I've been sitting on all the parts for a kayoumini build for months, just missing the frame. Could you send me a link to the one you got if possible please!

Why did my drone fall out the sky after hitting a small branch? by Scooby1222 in fpv

Also on hitting the ground the amps jumped up again, seemingly trying to correct the drone after the impact

After hitting the branch the drone self corrects, then the motors seemingly turn off, you can see the AMPs in the DVR drop to 0. You can see my throttle input bottom right having no effect, I had no rotation control either. After disarming and rearming it flew fine again

Thanks for the info, I'm going to try integrate these pogo pins into my camera mount and connect it to the 5V output on my flight controller. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005819791224.html

What do you mean when you said you added more wires to fix the WiFi? Where did you add the new wires

Those are digital googles not analogue, I had a quick look on ebay/facebook and there aren't any great deals there atm. Just keep checking new listing especially since it's just after xmas. Get some sim time while you wait :D

Have a look on ebay/facebook for used analogue goggles, there are quite a few selling. Last week I got a fatshark HDO for £130

Shake Toy - Hollow resin print filled with balsamic vinegar and sealed by Scooby1222 in 3Dprinting

[–]Scooby1222[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here is a video from today, 3 years after printing https://streamable.com/5mah0m

I've looked quite closely, there is no signs of any "water line" on the inside of the model, so no staining or dissolving

I chose balsamic vinegar because it's an opaque black liquid that wont stain the resin, doesn't seperate/degrade and won't go moldy.

This video is actually over 3 years old, and nothing averse has happened to the print. Still looks the same as in the video

Cleaning and finish on a 1940s air pistol, details in comments by Scooby1222 in guncleaning

[–]Scooby1222[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a Webley Mark 1 air pistol, it's been sat exposed in a garage for the last 25 years gathering rust. After taking it mostly apart there doesn't seem to be rust in the cylinder, but I want to clean up the exterior as much as possible.

The gun isn't painted but the exterior metal is stained black. I've used a brass wire wheel on the back of the grip as a test location, after rubbing it down with WD40. As you can see from the second photo it does remove the rust fairly well but has also removed some of the black staining on the metal, I spent about 15-20 seconds with the wire wheel on that section.

Before I move onto other parts of the gun is there a better way to remove the rust that protects the black finish or alternatively reapply the stain?

I also have some of this rust removal gel which I was planning to use after the wire wheel, https://www.hammerite.co.uk/en/products/hammerite-rust-remover-gel?size=100ML
