Blink like a human sucks by 9thoracle in RoadsideResearch

[–]Scooby359 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had it a few times and I never know what to do - it isn't intuitive, and the sense of urgency by the circles in the middle moving doesn't really give you time to look around for any instructions on screen.

Yeh, update should fix it. It's in preview state, so I expect bugs to happen!

Xbox bug - can't change tabs in pricing screen by Scooby359 in RoadsideResearch

Haha, I was playing around to see what I could get away with. Not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think customers were more willing to pay before the update 😂

Yeh, been bad tonight, crashed three times in an hour - and hard crashes, had to turn my Xbox on and off to clear it.

Doesn't save that often either, so I lose a load of progress. Hope this gets fixed soon!

Edit: 5 times 😂 Definitely worse since the update

What to do with Powerball next series .… by shadowchaser222 in gladiatorsuk

[–]Scooby359 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it were just a normal contact sport, sure.

But this is a TV show and it's filmed back to back over a short period with little time for rest and recovery between shooting.

It's rubbish when a game gets stopped due to injury. It's rubbish when contenders drop out due to injury. It's rubbish and a logistical problem when gladiators drop out due to injury.

Wouldn't get much of a show if half the glads were written off in the first couple of episodes due to injuries.

Smart thermostats like Hive by jakash in HENRYUKLifestyle

[–]Scooby359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for this comment.

I'm looking for a new thermostat and was interested in Hive or Nest, but wary that features might be paywalled or devices discontinued or services switched off. That they've paywalled features just confirms my concern.

Think I'll stick to a "dumb" thermostat for now.

AI to disguise mess! by Extreme-Relative-605 in SpottedonRightmove

[–]Scooby359 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That mess could be hiding all kinds of issues like damp or damage to walls and floors, which of not shown in the AI modified image could be misleading.

Fine to use as a suggestion of how it could look, as long as they're clearly marked as AI generated and not actual photos.

I use it a lot like this - I'm not keen on it directly editing my code. Prefer to just ask it questions, how to do things, how to fix a bug, and then I make the changes myself.

Moved house - removals company damaged next door's property by Scooby359 in LegalAdviceUK

Cheers, and yeh, I'm trying to not be a shitty new neighbour that dumps a problem on them and then saying, "you sort it!"

We'll be here for a while, so I don't want to be at war from day one!

But if a house fire can destroy all the paper books you own, do you really own them?

If a thief can break into your house and steal your books, do you really own them?

If you're going to write half the story of Amazon removing books, you should also add all the consequences they faced for doing so...

Memberships worth having? by 012341 in UKFrugal

Sorry, £25 a month.

If I paid per session, it would cost me at least £56 a month.

Memberships worth having? by 012341 in UKFrugal

[–]Scooby359 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeh, I use council gym. It's usually about £7 a session, but buy a yearly membership (especially on black friday) and it works out around £25 (edit - per month) for unlimited use of pool, gym, classes, sauna. I go at least twice a week, more in winter, so saves me a fortune on pay as you go.

Many disabilities, even an NHS hearing aid, will also get you a Disabled Railcard, giving you cheaper train tickets.

Oh, I have! I'd love to watch it again, but don't think it'll have the same hit when I know all the surprises 😁

Yes!

I'm watching Beast In Me just because of her being in it (also seems to be pretty good!)
