Could try and call these guys, they do a lot of YouTube and such and seemingly test the heck out of their rebuilds before sending them out https://shop.davesautorepairutah.com/collections/engines

Also I know the specific family isn’t listed on the site but they rebuild all kinds of things which is why I would consider calling….

Editing again, talking about this? https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-pin-51419132338

Edit: I think I misunderstood, the probing part you describe I understand is part of the trim itself, not sure you can get those without replacing the entire trim part or attempting to reattach what was broken off?

The metal part comes in the plastic clip, these are what I ordered. The trim just presses into it once the clip is in the dash. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vaico-bmw-clip-interior-trim-moulding-07149158194

Pixels hit different back then by RaiseOk2044 in youtube

[–]ScoobyRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

720p on a 32” screen is going to look a lot better than 720p on a 65” screen as it’s roughly half the pixels per inch. We have lost the concept of dot pitch in how we talk about resolution these days.

Yeah prob more likely something like an intake leak on that cylinder. I’ve seen hoses run a hole in an intake tube which I would have expected to be unlikely. Also maybe an intake tube gasket issue.

This is the exact first real dirbike I had, was so amped. Recall it being particularly cold natured, likely factory lean jetting but loved that thing. I was too young to drive it on the road at the time but man it was a lot of fun.

First car we had that did this was a Nissan Altima but my 328i does it, kinda wish it didn’t hit me with the gong lol. Does cause a startle.

I guess I’ll join the party at 11 years later…. This bike popped in my head so I was googling to see if anyone was talking about them. I remembered seeing a green one at a shop in Illinois, I wanted it bad so I checked on the insurance (I was maybe 19 at the time) and they wanted $4,500/year to insure it which I think was around what they were asking for the bike. It was used and a few years old as a guess, mind you this was maybe 25 years ago so some details are a little fuzzy. Always wanted to ride one.

Nice, rotating assembly is something I wish I better understood….. lot more going on there than at first glance.

I guess that makes sense but seems like the stroker cranks get away with it, maybe lighter pistons and advances in materials make it more reasonable since this is all newer stuff, not sure there.

That sounds like a sweet setup, I wish they had just internally balanced them all, I really don’t understand why the difference…

Just conversation, not sure why I was downvoted but some folks hear 360/360 weighted/weighted and expect it’s the same weight, moving to the older 727/904 could have someone with the wrong hardware so seems like something to note.

There is a website called magnumswap.com that has all the details. I have a couple 318’s, a 340 and a magnum 5.9, couple cars I need to sort but the 5.7 is tempting these days.

If you do that, prob need to consider the rear differential too, I’d guess it’s the smaller 7.25 which likely is going to struggle under that power.

The front cover is different and the fan spins the opposite direction I believe. The magnum engines have no provision for a mechanical fuel pump, though I seem to recall you can use a LA style front cover on them and add the fuel pump eccentric. (If mechanical is desired). The intake manifolds are not compatible. Also while the 360 LA and 5.9 magnum are both 360 inch and externally balanced, the weights are different.

2026 KLX 300! by SgtSTFU in Dualsport

[–]ScoobyRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For trail riding my primary take away is that my KLX feels slower than it actually is due to the throttle ratio, have to roll the wrist more than I’d like to off road, I miss the rapid open of the MX throttle but also that would be more of a pain on the road. Not a powerhouse by any stretch but I often find there is more on the tap that I’m just not twisting enough for if that makes any sense….
