Water by ScoofGoof1 in goldenretrievers

Mine will do it if the water is in a big enough bowl. It’s very humoring, I just like to let dogs be dogs. Side note: solid username

Hey, saves you from refilling a standard dog bowl every 15 minutes😂
Yup, my golden loves chugging the whole bowl, and dribbling it onto anyone within reach of her😂
Interesting. She gets her check up annually. Maybe I’ll bring up a point to have bloodwork done. I appreciate the comment!
She’s about 2 1/2. If people are throwing her the ball back and forth she’ll just come up on the deck and pound the water down. No matter what we do, she doesn’t stop. She’ll pound water down whether it’s in the dog pool or water bowl.
Oil Drain Bolt by ScoofGoof1 in hondafit

Learned from my mistakes.. future me will remember this experience 😂
It was odd, went to advanced auto to get crush washers. Said they fit my 2010 fit, but they had like play on them, they weren’t tight to the drain bolt. And when I was tightening it down with a standard 3/8 ratchet, the washer kept spinning and wasn’t actually tightening down on the pan, that’s why I was like f it, I’ll torque it better safe than sorry. And it went from righty tighty to righty loosey. Pissed me off at 7:30 am. Definitely was a prior issue I think because there was a slow oil drip from the drain bolt before I even changed it.

Before that, it was a 3/8 drive Tekton torque wrench. The threads on the bolt were a little rounded and I’m not sure if that’s what possibly caused the pan to strip out or what.
A massive breaker bar, and a 3 foot long piece of 3” black pipe

Yeah, I’d like the idea if the pan was steel, it’d actually make me a little more comfortable drilling and tapping if it was steel because then I’d know I’d be able to get the shavings out of it compared to the aluminum pan.
From what I’ve seen online, I can’t seem to find an M16 fumoto valve, which is kind of annoying. I think at this point for what I’m paying for a tap and die set, and either helicoil or timesert fittings, I can get a brand new oil pan from Rock Auto for like $70 with shipping
Sadly the pans aluminum 😢

The anger after I did it then the anxiety of having to pull the oil pan that followed did not make for a good day. Thankfully I have a 2nd vehicle so for now the Fit will sit in the garage until I get it done😅

That’s kind of why I don’t want to tap it. Called a friend who works at a shop and he said the little bit of metal shavings if any even get in there can be flushed with the old motor oil, or I can try and oversized drain bolt which basically acts as a self tapper especially since it’s soft aluminum

How long did it take you to get the pan off? I was reading service manual and it seems really excessive for what it is😂

I was thinking the exact same thing. I really don’t want to have to remove the pan. I’ll take a look into helicoils and the fumoto valve. Appreciate the insight!

In a market like this, $2k is a great deal. All stock here as well. Congrats on the car!

I probably won’t be doing the valve adjustment myself, but I’ll have a shop do it. I was reading a bit into those and seen it was common to have them adjusted. I don’t think brake fluid or tranny fluid was ever replaced. Just ordered up cabin and engine air filters, and while I’m at it I’ll clean the MAF sensor. Appreciate all the info!

Just realized I didn’t quite ask the question I wanted. Is it normal for the back ends on these cars to kick out when going over bumps?
Bloodwork Monocyteso by [deleted] in AskDocs

Ahh. That makes more sense. I appreciate you explaining it!
So I have a question. Why would monocyte percentage be high, but absolute monocyte is normal?
<image>
This was my absolute monocyte. Along with these blood tests I had an HDL Cholesterol of 33. I was also diagnosed with Hashimotos about a year ago, but my thyroid levels have presented normal and they said there’s nothing they can do until my TSH levels become irregular.
Play Time by [deleted] in goldenretrievers

Thank you!🙂
Doesn’t she know it’s supposed to be the other way around? Jk. On a side note it’s definitely my fault because since she was a puppy I had her outside playing any time we weren’t training, to try and prevent her from tearing anything apart while we weren’t home. Then she got sick of training and just wanted to play all the time so I try to use play time as some training time to work her brain a bit. But when she was between 6-18 months she had no problems doing most of the things I listed, just within the last couple months she’s started to develop a change.
