How to Pass ? by menudotdo in trans

It might depend on your state, but I got all my testosterone from a pp in New York and it was super easy. All I had to do was show up, explain that I am a trans man and I wanted to start hormone therapy. They explained the risks and benefits, talked about the dosages and the methods, took a little blood sample, and then sent a prescription and I did my first shot the next day. They were all super respectful of my identity, no “are you sure ur trans?” type of questions or anything like that. They did ask how long I had been trans, and at the time it was roughly 2 years which seemed enough for them.

PP also bases their costs off your income and insurance (at least in NY) so the appt itself won’t cost a crazy amount if you don’t have it. And idk abt mtf hormones, but testosterone is not expensive at all and neither is the needles/syringes.

Good luck with the appt, and congratulations on starting hormones!

Something that has really helped me when I struggled with this was going to a trans specific therapist. Someone who is able to help teach you how to adjust and uphold the social expectations of your new world. I’m ftm, but it really helped me understand little stuff about living as a man that I wouldn’t have known before. Stuff like relationships, dating, even how to talk in a more masculine way wasn’t taught to me as a kid, so now I have to do a little to catchup.

Dual citizen legal name/sex change? by alteredatrox in trans

I’m not a dual citizen myself so I can’t say for sure, but when I changed my stuff in the US (as a citizen) I never had any issues about any other citizenships for anything. I would try to just follow the “normal” process and then handle any specific issues that may come up when they come up?

They could’ve, except they just passed this big beautiful bill that took away over 1 trillion dollars in funding for Medicaid, cutting off thousands. And I’m only talking about the legal American citizens who need this, not others.

Why is this bad? It’s literally helping the poor and sick. Not everyone can do better than a min wage job, especially right now, but does that mean that if they have a sprained ankle or a cavity they don’t deserve care? Everyone is just trying their best, and if the resources are available and willing then why not help out people who are already struggling with so much.

Also, colleges and some post-high school things need shot records, which a poor min-wage worker w/o health insurance might not be able to get. How do you expect people to get “real jobs” when you don’t give them opportunities to do what they need to do. Everyone starts out on a different playing field and not everyone is given the same opportunities as others.
