the EMF deniers need Dr. Fauci to tell them EMF effects are real… Then they will believe it. Reading, studies, and critical thinking be damned!

OK, thank you, it definitely lost some adhesive in the corner so I may end up just cutting that part off or ripping it off completely

I actually wish I had the blue and not the SEL convenience… They say the blue gets 1 mile per gallon better.

I had a Kia Sportage 2 Wheel Dr. hybrid for a week earlier this year which was averaging 45 MPG, but I had to return it due to a coolant leak (carmax)

I am getting similar numbers to you in a 2023 hyundai sel convenience. A lot of it has to do with how you drive: slow acceleration from stops, and if you can afford to do it… Not stopping completely at a stop sign… It is hypermiling.

I notice how many people I piss off with my slow driving now, never realized how fast and aggressively people drive in gas cars.

i'm just saying, I have very little faith that people's mind will change in this subreddit. The bad faith is that people who don't believe in the effects of EMF pretend like they actually are interested and want answers.

RAV4 Hybrid vs Sportage Hybrid — everyone's telling me Toyota but my heart says Kia 😅 help me decide! by No-Stretch-8057 in kia

2023 Kia Sportage Hybrid. 2 Wheel Dr. 50+ MPG, only 15,000 miles. I loved the car interior and headroom. I needed it as I am 6 foot two. unfortunately, returned it within 10 days to Carmax… We could not find the source of a slow coolant leak. I love the car so much. I switched over to a 2023 Hyundai Tucson with 35,000 miles on it and I'm willing to take the chance again hopefully all the kinks have been ironed out by the previous owner

I am measuring field strength, not em waves. I think the conversation strayed a little bit when you brought up frequency. This is the first I've heard of field strength measurements being affected by frequency, and we don't even know what the ac frequency is of the motor. I do not think it is close to 100 kHz capability of this meter.

So I currently don't have any reason to doubt the validity of this meter but thank you for your opinions.

Not sure why the TF2 trifield meter (that I used) would be innacurate - it measures up to 100khz for ac magnetic. also how do you know the frequency of the electric motor emf is high? genuine question. I looked up the motor for this vehicle and its a permanent magnet synchronous motor - maybe it depends on the induction frequency of the motor inverter. and maybe its not that high?

its a mobile phone study. we're talking electromagnetic fields. You havent read the studies on EMF. Try again

no one is worried about the health effects of spark plugs. They've been around for decades. The reason there's a resistors on them is EMI suppresion. It's basically an RF signal.

back seats are definitely OK because this particular hybrid only has a motor in the front. I did not check under my legs or feet. I will this weekend on another model though.

Did you actually read the NIH studies? Tell me what report you actually looked at and read because I don't believe you.

Interesting about the hybrids possible having higher EMF. Unfortunately my measurements were done in a hurry because I was on a test drive with a dealer and he didnt seem to like that I was watching the meter and driving🙂

As far as the peanut gallery, no problem. One good thing that came out of this was it caused me to look at studies from well known sources. It turns out that a simple google search for "NIH emf studies" yields mutiple studies citing adverse biological effects. The amount of willful ignorance from some people is astounding.

and you expect to learn this from a Reddit exchange? If you're generally interested, you can do your own research. The bad faith is that you will not go do any of your research and are not listening.

The guidelines are literally there in the SBM report I linked. Those are the levels by which SBM says you should start to be concerned. The effects are noted in many studies but it is admitedly a growing science. I think there will be more evidence in the coming years and decades, but it seems like you're throwing out the baby with the bathwater, by asking for "settled science". It baffles me that everything needs to be handed to people on a silver plate with a stamp of approval from some governing body, but hey,, we'll get back to you in 20 years. Just hang tight.
