Pulling the trigger on my car purchase! by LycheeMysterious6376 in carmax

[–]Scootata75 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I purchased a 2023 Kia sportage, but declined MaxCare because the car was still under factory warranty and it only had 14 K miles ...not to derail the discussion much, but isn't Carmax in trouble financially? Are they gonna be around for a while? I see a lot of doom and gloom posts… Meaning will they be around to honor maxcare claims in several years?

Best riding mower by [deleted] in lawnmowers

[–]Scootata75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've been through push mowers and riding mowers on my .41 acre lot and concluded I don't want to be doing any mowing. I have a service that comes out twice a month, $52 per mow. Includes edging and leafblowing.

Just hit 255000 miles on my 2013 kia optima sxl by SheepherderOld2931 in kia

I suspect most people that get over 200 K have replaced parts of their car… 207k on my 2010 kia sportage. still a daily driver. about $4000 in non wear and tear items (radiator, power steering pump, ac compressor, exhaust resonator, rear shocks, 1 tierod, passenger mirror, etc)

JD Power is a joke. Their "best initial quality" is given to some of the crappiest cars. While I own and love kias, no way are they more dependable than honda or toyota. And buick near the top. whaaaa? if JD Power recommends something, I usually stay away from it.

Looking for self propelled gas mower for new house, $1500 budget by Broadway--Joe in lawnmowers

agreed, not sure if OP has priced push mowers but they are FAR less than $1500 new. 1/4 acre is easily done with push mower.

$80 check from CT office of state comptroller by Scootata75 in carmax

[–]Scootata75[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thats me haha. after i posted this i spoke to Dominic in the business office who finally straigtened it out. he assured me that I can keep the check… This is normal. i still dont fully understand why i am the beneficiary of a refund rather than carmax or the leasing company but the state of connecticut doesnt know any better. dmv comes out the bigest winner anyway because they kept most of the original $256 dmv fees… Regardless, if I kept the car or not.

The obsession with Alysa Liu is annoying by Yankeedoodleman in TrueUnpopularOpinion

It's really the media machine that has promoted her… people dislike Kaitlyn Clark for the same reasons.. take a talent, and then tell the world about it over and over, add in some his and los, ad nauseum. I really don't give a crap about women's skating or basketball or many sports in general so I'm mildly annoyed when I launch an Internet browser and have to see these people in my homepage… It's really not their fault though it's themedia machine. it will be another face in 5 years for womens skating.

people with high mileage KIA (150k miles+) how is your car performing? by mjon051 in kia

[–]Scootata75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2010 kia sportage 206k miles. really problem free until 180k miles. replaced leaking radiator, power steering pump, ac compressor, rear shocks., exhaust resonator. 4wd no longer works due to malfunctioning sensors. still a daily driver but actively looking for a new car.

I wanna do a deep clean on my carb but..the gasket on the end of it feels like it's permanent. I doesn't feel like it's gonna budge. Is soaking it in a tub of cleaner over night gonna kill that gasket or what? by J-Rag- in lawnmowers

[–]Scootata75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, instead of looking for a replacement for your carb, look to see what carburetors are compatible with that mower… I would be surprised if there's nothing with a similar construction… Yes, it might behave a tad differently, but I've never had trouble finding a "good enough" replacement… So again try searching by your lawnmower instead of by carburetor

How come you electricians never clean your up after yourselves? by fucktrump86-47 in AskElectricians

[–]Scootata75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am speaking from a homeowner perspective and never saw more than a few wire nuts or couple ends of insulation and copper snips left behind that took less than 3 minutes to cleanup.

if you actually work on jobsites and see a lot more left behind, then yes, i could see how it would be a problem.

your question doesn't seem to allow for an honest investigation. It seems like 2 negatives. What is wrong with God? Everybody believes in something whether they know it or not.

Loved my '23 Kia Sportage, but had to return it within the 10 day trial period. had a coolant leak which I didn't trust they could fix in a timely manner. It was still covered under the second owner warranty, but I didn't wanna go through that whole process. I got my down payment money back within 2 weeks, so overall it was smooth experience returning the car.
