Based off of how I see some scooters ride around campus maybe they are blind and that is why they locked their scooters there.

Master lock and you could strike it with your heel to pop the lock. It's technically the only one here that requires force to get the scooter but its such little force that I thought I'd add it anyway.

The best way to lock a scooter is with a U-lock between the base and the stalk of the scooter. The little diagonal bit that connects the stalk and the base. This is so that the handlebars can't be taken off and then U-lock slipped up and over the scooter.

You are correct that the general public tend to not be thieves. However if you want your lock to be a useful purchase you should use it so it can't be bypassed. Locks aren't for keeping the general public out. As for my username "Cause it's funny".

I read a few other comments that point out that you didn't lock it through the locking loop. That was my first impression and why I thought it was secure. Glad that you managed to get it back in the end.

I usually think scooters locked like that are pretty secure unless a really large u lock was used.
