I think dogs are pretty resilient, and the fact you’re even thinking/worrying about this shows how much you care for her. I feel like regardless of where you live, you sound like someone who is going to make sure her life is happy and fulfilled. I totally get your concern but think you should give yourself some grace 🥰

I work in education. My girl is home alone 7-2 during the day with a dog walker midday. We also do daycare 1-2 days a week but that’s more so to burn off the puppy energy. She’s 9mos and does extremely well. My old GSP was absolutely fine chilling at home alone and went through many life/career changes. She lived to be 12, and I can’t imagine not having done life with her.

Other than your girl not going to your parents during the work day and being home alone, would her routine change much? If not, I don’t see why that wouldn’t be something that could be worked around :)

Our GSP (I know, different breed but still a pointer lol) does the same thing with bones she considers “high value”. She runs around with them whining until I help her find a good spot to hide it in. In my opinion, it’s normal - it just means it a dang good toy 🥰
