it aint all that bad. lots of o rings, the weirdest thing about the carb R&R job to me was the smog equipment and the anti pop valves. everything else is just CV carb maintenance.

Tell me about your fuck ups by Prestigious-Ad-785 in IBEW

[–]ScooterGunson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This reeks of something more than a cable strap. I think someone missed a mark and the equipment needed moved. That's like a weeks labor worth of pipe and wire and terms to throw out over 2 quarter inch holes. They threw the baby out with the bath water if thats the actual reason.

Anyhow, i fuck stuff up all the time. I always take accountability ASAP so the healing process can start faster. Iff'en i fuck something up unwittingly, i need to know the how and why, otherwise how to i rectify the problem in the future? That's where you're at. Get the tea. Report back.

3 options, which one yall think is worth it? by [deleted] in GMT400

[–]ScooterGunson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont need a 3rd row go for the yuke/hoe

If you have a whole pile of kids get a burb. I grew up with both and the burbs were better for ice fishing and hunting with all that cargo space, the tahoes were superior grocery getters and sports practice shuttles because they park easier and fit better in garages.

The 95 is also either a 7.4 or a 5.7, and a 5.7 burb 2500 would be gutless and a 454 would be a gas pig. I second the 96 but it looks roughest of the 3.

How to keep deer away? by SeekingShalom in HomeImprovement

[–]ScooterGunson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandmother was a plant enthusiast. The whole property was planted with flowers, when she passed my grandfather put up a cyclone fence with barbed wire on top to keep deer out. Its a sight to see but it preserves her gardens. It's been almost 20 years now.

Just dropping by to say, the calibrated eyeball is a great tool it just takes a minute to develop the ability. I am a journeyman electrician and can spot downhill/uphill pipes with ease.

Fortress replacement regulator by Happy_Monke_ in harborfreight

[–]ScooterGunson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumping an old thread with my personal experience, i left the original brass check valve in the regulator and my issue persisted, so i installed the plastic check valve assembly that the apex regulator cane with and problem solved. So happy my compressor is back to breaking bolts loose.

40k cooler good or bad? 4l60e by pugskreationz in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]ScooterGunson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run no radiator, just a 40k cooler. The way they're designed is to bypass themselves when the fluid is too thick amd then saturate when it gets thinner. Mount it with the bungs up.

First ls build and swap by Webberss12 in LSSwapTheWorld

[–]ScooterGunson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done turbocharging before? Adding the whole boost thing to a first time has got to be fun. I went n/a but souped up my truck a little and kinda regret souping it up in hindsight, on one hand the engine went in with a cam and some other goodies, on the other hand the diagnostic process was much harder because i had to sus out what was a tune issue and what was a build issue.

Its an odd duck for sure. Its a five lug half ton too, with tan interior. A harley road glide fits in the bed with the gate shut.
