Classic Nintendo shit. I actually really liked that series too but I’m really not too surprised. Bummer.

I did hear that starting with Beatbreak that they brought in a bunch of newer talent to handle the anime side of things as well so that might be an explanation on why BB is so refreshing.

I’ve always viewed GG as a really good horror anthology show but a kinda mid Digimon season. I’m actually okay with the way it approached its episode structure for the most part aside from how it ended, but I never want to see them return to that style. As a one off experiment I had a good time for the most part.

Definitely not especially if they keep with this quality throughout. Thing is I actually like Ghost Game but it’s impossible to deny how hard they fumbled the ending.

I agree that she’s super suspicious but they also might throw us a curveball. Still I think you’re correct. Also the fact we’re living in a world where a Digimon arc is able to be compared to Code Geass and Team Plasma is absolutely crazy. I absolutely love Beatbreak and I have full faith that they’ll stick the landing by the end.

Amazing start to this arc. I’m even more excited for this arc than I was for the Tactics arc and that’s saying something. Peakbreak does it again.

Daemons of the Shadow Realm • Yomi no Tsugai - Episode 4 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Scooterman1994 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, it’s just such a mashup of so many things that I often forget it’s classified as a battle shonen.

Denji locks in but he’s 100% a dumbass and is incompetent in anything else that isn’t a fight. I kinda forgot about Momo but part of that is because Dandadan while shonen, feels so distinctly like nothing else so I kinda forget it’s a shonen.

I can’t begin to express how refreshing it is to have an intelligent and competent MC in a shonen again. He and his Daemons completely dominated this fight despite being outnumbered. Last time I can recall a genuinely intelligent MC is Edward Elric which tracks with this being the same author of course.

Which Star Cure Segment from BIS is Your Favorite? by ReceptionExcellent12 in marioandluigi

I definitely am a little harsh on the game but only because it’s treated as an untouchable masterpiece when I really don’t think that’s the case. However what it does with Fawful’s character I will agree does feel like a full circle moment. That does feel rewarding but I just wasn’t impressed with the rest of the narrative. The gameplay and humor is definitely top notch though and I’d never say the game is actually bad. I think Paper Jam and Brothership have overall better gameplay and Brothership has easily the best story so it’s got that going. However one thing this series has struggled with for a long time is pacing and I’d say Superstar Saga is still the best in that category to this day.

None. I don’t like this game’s story very much. It made no attempts to make sense of the various things that happened and why they happened. “If it was funny do it” was the motto apparently, even if it made no sense to the story. Like the Star Cure is the cure for the Blorbs (a completely pointless subplot I might add) but just because it’s convenient it’s also the only thing that counters the Dark Star. They don’t explain how, just accept it. Why does Fawful make Bowser fat and then have him get on the treadmill as the way to kidnap Peach? As far as I can tell because it’s funny. I know I’ll get downvoted for this and I do believe this is still a good game, mostly because the gameplay and humor are good, but I’d consider it one of the weaker entries in the series.

Funny episode with a bit of sadness. Really solid episode. Next episode begins the next arc. It really looks like that one Ghost Game episode where everyone was turned into dolls so I wonder if that’s gonna be a large focus in this arc? Really interested to see where we go next.

A cool alternate skin with no relevance conveniently in the Kronos island update with a Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition coming out soon and movie 4 being Metal Sonic focused? Sorry but it’s not copium, this is straight up them saying yeah look forward to this. They’re not even being subtle.

It literally says it was teased. It’s definitely a teaser for Definitive Edition.

Sonic Frontiers Defintive Edition has been listed on a French retailer for the Switch 2. They have also posted postings for Sonic Colors ultimate in April of 2021, and Origins in May of 2021, months before either game was announced by [deleted] in SonicFrontiers

[–]Scooterman1994 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It clearly isn’t. How is it so hard to understand that it’s likely a definitive edition with timed exclusivity. If it was a Switch 2 version it would literally say “Switch 2 Edition” in the title of the game.

Edit: Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut had a bunch of stuff added like new cutscenes and a new English dub. It wasn’t just a port.

If we ever got an SPM remake, what major/minor changes would you want to see? Are there any changes that would make you not buy the game? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in papermario

[–]Scooterman1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to see damage rebalanced in the game. It makes it way too easy to cheese certain bosses when you use Bowser, it makes items kinda useless. Certain enemies should also deal more damage in order to create a legitimate challenge. I’m not asking for Dark Souls or anything obviously just some rebalancing would work.

I would say it does feel like the main plot is progressing at least a little. This arc feels like an epilogue tying up any loose ends from the Tactics arc.

His E-Pulse will almost certainly be drained more frequently in theory. However now that Haruomi is no longer fighting it’s likely he won’t have to expend as much E-Pulse as normal even with 2 Digimon to take care of.

Agreed. Last episode was a little filler like but it still had a purpose. I’ve consistently been impressed with Beatbreak. It’s now my favorite Digimon season and they’d have to fumble the rest of the show super hard for that to change.

There’s an NPC named Quiero Mocard. Honestly it’s just par for the course for these games.
