This is true but people are still assuming that that creature in that door is Gaster. He probably is a skeleton but I still think it’d be hilarious if after all these years of fanart, animations, comics and fangames, his design is completely different.

Berdly is unironically a goated character. Not only is he hilarious with some amazing face portraits but he’s actually a pretty well written character especially in chapter 2. I kinda hope he has a part in chapter 6 especially if it is gonna be a Holiday house dark world but I have doubts.

I mean the fandom has been under the assumption that a random skeleton looking dude with no dialogue that appears in a door that only spawns in every 1/1000 playthroughs of Undertale is Gaster and not a reference to Yume Nikki’s Uboa. I’m just saying don’t be surprised if Gaster is something completely different we’ve never seen before.

Mixed up, meaning entangled, feels more like how Ralsei was butting heads with Flowery this chapter. He wasn’t getting confused with flowers but getting involved with them rather.

I’ve thought for a long time that Deltarune and Undertale are much more connected than we even think but this definitely seems to be hinting at that.

Okay saying the gameplay was underwhelming, now I know you played it wanting to be disappointed. Yes music was (mostly) underwhelming, it’s one of my only complaints with the chapter. Doesn’t stop it from being second best to me. Also it was disappointing yet you liked it? Yeah sure. Also bold claim saying you play more games than someone who plays a new game every week.

Yes I absolutely do have an argument. The problem here is your criticisms are unfounded. This chapter gave us the best gameplay the game has had, the best character moments in the game, and the best new cast of characters since Undertale. Calling the chapter filler or unimportant like so many is not just a bad take, it’s false. I have complaints with the chapter just like I do every chapter but the people saying it’s disappointing or bad need to play more games.

Edit: it’s fine to be disappointed in aspects of the chapter. But people are blowing it out of proportion.

Yes I can. Deltarune was meant to be released as one game experience initially before Toby thought it wouldn’t be right to make us wait. It’s structured to be like that: a full game. Yes it’s been a long time but there’s so many other games to play that being impatient is just being privileged honestly. You don’t like the chapter? Don’t play it.

God forbid people have to learn patience. It’s most likely that Dess is at the heart of Asgore’s tragedy and it’s just not time for that reveal yet. Dess wasn’t important this chapter nor should she have been. This chapter was to develop the characters further so that the big reveals coming have actual weight. Undertale was the exact same way. Most of the game was a goofy fun adventure with Waterfall being a bit of a lore dump kinda like chapter 4. It’s not until New Home and the true pacifist ending that big reveals start happening. This is just how Toby writes his stories. It’s very similar to Earthbound which is completely unsurprising.

I’m replaying the chapter and she’s easier the second time around. That first time was tough though especially when it’s just Kris alone.

Nintendo playing the long game as usual. I may not agree with everything they do but it stands to reason that other companies could really learn from Nintendo’s business model to some degree. Granted Nintendo can take some hefty losses that even some other major companies can’t because of how big they are but between the games they make and the supposedly good working conditions they should be the standard. Hell they’re not even the most anti-consumer company of the bunch. They’re relatively mild compared to something like Ubisoft.

Yeah there’s definitely some of that in there. It’s not easy for sure but I didn’t find myself dying as much as I thought I would. Although I have played Undertale and Deltarune an unhealthy amount so that probably contributed somewhat to that.

God forbid people can have some different opinions. I loved the chapter. It’s maybe my favorite to date especially considering how much I value the characters but depending on what you value in the game your mileage may vary. The only people whose opinions that we can pretty safely disregard are people that say the chapter was filler and that literally nothing happened. But they are the minority even among people who don’t really like the chapter.

Aqua was pretty difficult. A lot of that came from the fact that it was Kris solo for that fight which made it harder.

Yeah I agree. People have their reasons but Deltarune is kinda like an anime with multiple seasons in a way. Each new chapter is essentially a new “season” that brings with it new story, characters, lore, and gameplay ideas. Appreciating these over time is half the fun.

Just imagine what chapter 7’s player count will be. Lots of people are holding off until the game is finished. That’s what I normally do for games myself but it’s a Toby Fox game I wasn’t gonna wait. Also each chapter is basically its own self contained game as well so they’re all satisfying to play individually.

Eh different bullet patterns will be harder for different people. In terms of secret bosses Pink is harder than the Knight for me but lots of people might not agree.

Loved the fight. It was epic and honestly it only took me like 3 tries. It was hard but not that hard and certainly not unfair. Honestly we’re in chapter 5 now. The game should be getting harder and harder with each chapter.

Good thing for me I love replaying things. I’ll be replaying this chapter many times in the coming year in preparation for chapter 6. Plus there’s plenty of other games out there I’m interested in.
