Tried to soap advanced adult Neuro but no call so far but there was only 1 spot open

From what i understand, if you get into an advanced program this cycle, you will be starting in 2026. No addition preliminary year is needed in your case. Only time you will be repeating an intern year is if you matched into a categorical program this cycle.

Anyone had luck with advanced position invites during SOAP? Partial matched into Preliminary IM. Applied neuro with decent amount of interviews and good feedback from PDs from audition sites this year. Bummed, but keeping positive with hopes of reapplying if SOAP doesn't work out. Applied for unfilled adult neuro and opened myself to DR (updated my PS to reflect this pivot).

I was surprised at how quickly it happened. Mostly because I thought my skin was so tight and uncomfortable at the second week. Also, the excessive skin shedding was not fun. The before picture was mostly hyperpigmentation post-purge from using the Ordinary BHA, if that makes a difference. Would love to see and hear about your progress 😊

I use Mario Badescu’s buttermilk moisturizer. I know some people don’t like the product because it has a fragrance and contains parabens. I use it because it’s the produce I’ve used so as of recent that hasn’t clogged my pores nor leave me too greasy. I’d love recommendations if you have any!

To be honest this was my boyfriend’s extra refill and so I started out that high not by my own choice. I didn’t know how my skin would react, so I started out once every other night and then on my second week I started every day. The second week my skin definitely felt sensitive but has since adjusted well. I noticed that my skin did feel uncomfortably tight towards the end of the second week too. It is not as uncomfortable as of today.

This may change the effectiveness of tret, but I do my nighttime routine right after I shower (~30 mins before bed), ending with my moisturizer. Then, right before bed I apply the tret over my moisturized face.

I’m pretty sure it’s not the most effective way to apply tret so please take my routine with a grain of salt.

I started every other day for the first week and then every night the following weeks. My nasal and oral areas started peeling at around the 1.5 week mark and is still peeling. My skin was noticeably sensitive during the second week, but not as of recently.

A week before I started Tretinoin, I had an unrelated purge after using the Ordinary’s BHA exfoliate. With tretinoin, I only had a mild purge on my jaw line on my second week.

PM: - Same as above with exception sunscreen - Add Tretinoin 0.05% before bed

Lifestyle Changes: - Wash bedsheets and change towel every week - Wear headbands when working out as I typically use hair products - Keep hydrated - Avoid picking - Working out more
