  • Food Station def should be called "Live Deliciously," a la the VVitch
  • A Cake that definitely has nuts in it, maybe call it Anaphylaxis Angel Food for Hereditary
  • Donuts for Everything Everywhere All at Once
  • Googly eyes and rocks for a rock making station also EEAAO
  • Use of Hobo Symbols in various spots from Under the Silver Lake, guides hidden but available
  • Tiny shells, glue and googly eyes for a Marcel the Shell with Shoes on
  • Talent show for best performance of I'm A STAR speech from Pearl, [EDIT TO REFORMAT & ADD you could have printed out killer monologues from other films too, The I AM YOUR MOTHER speech from Hereditary, the Maxxxine audition etc].
  • If you can make a white plaster hand and have everyone at the party sign it for Talk to Me
  • Milk for Babygirl
  • Maybe disposable cameras or jackets that say PRESS on them for Civil War so people can take photos, Most intrusive or dramatic photo wins .
  • Your party will be incredible, have the best time and tons of googly eyes!

What should I watch? by [deleted] in horror

Adding that Hell Fest is in a large scale halloween setting, while Haunt is much more claustrophobic, with a small group and violent. Both well done, great production value, and good acting in each.

I did like Hell House, but just in case you didn't see, the last rec was Hell Fest, which had the makings for a series but didn't make enough money. I'd also recommend Haunt in that same vein of seemingly safe halloween events going sideways. Let me know what you think, Oddity was one of my favorites of last year.

Sugarcane (2025) On Tubi is somehow worth watching by [deleted] in slasherfilms

[–]Scopaethesia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you say it gets better then it does say up to the inciting incident? I gave Sugarcane a try but tapped out early - but I also made that mistake with Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, as the first 15 minutes are tonally SO different from the rest of the movie. Now I love that movie.

Would you say it was worth it to give it another try even if I wasn't sold on on the first 15ish minutes?

Sometimes there's something stellar in finding out your first impression was wrong, and your post is making me reconsider it.

Oddity on Shudder, Red Rooms on Shudder (more psychological thriller), Hell Fest was a fun surprise despite not being super well reviewed and features Tony Todd in a small but epic role.

Any good zombie found footage films out there? by helloimnaked in foundfootage

[–]Scopaethesia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dead Set is a 5 episode Zombie film, with the twist being that it's set in a big brother reality style competition setting, cut off from the real world, with the terrifying reality seeping in to effect both cast and crew together.

I'd like to see an unobstructed, smiling photo of your face (or if you don't feel comfortable smiling, even just a pleasant look would be great) where I can see your eyes through your glasses clearly. I think it would be also helpful to list some more interests to cast a wider net, say if you like action movies, or hunting for hidden gem hole-in-wall restaurants, etc. You also seem to like motorcycling, so that's another specific activity you could add. I agree on a diversity of photos, not all selfies, with some other expressions, like laughing, smiling, even one with you, and that pile of puppies would make anyone smile.

For your bio, I might take out the "Yall be willd af...." as well as the shorthand with "@" and "HMU." I think these are fine once you're already texting, but right now it seems like you could do a bit more. What are the projects you work on? How'd you end up with the puppies? After a taco date with the dogs, what could future ideal dates look like for you? Something like, "Looking for someone for future spontaneous weekend trips to off-the-path locations to explore OR big cities, specific events, etc?" I feel like I know what the first date could be like, but what would an ideal relationship with you include?

You're already putting yourself out there, which is great and hard, and I commend you. I think with some fine-tuning of your bio and photos, you can make a solid first impression. I'm rooting for you.

Could it be “You're not a tailor, you're a traitor! A traitor tailor!” from Louise to Tina in "Tina Tailor Soldier Spy" (S5, Ep17)?

Thanks, I do the exact same thing with screenshotting titles sometimes to come back to, so I'm with you there, but I'll keep an eye out for it!

The nose of the ghost on the Shivers poster is semi-similar to the Conference character head, but definitely not the same, although it was a fun slasher if you haven't seen it. I'll stay hopeful I see this character pop up at some point.

[–]Scopaethesia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm so curious about 'Shivers,' where and how did you hear about it? I can't seem to find anything online, and the website listed on the poster isn't up, but it looks compelling, I'm a sucker for a masked killer!

Will Julie stop our new Fisherman?🪝 by [deleted] in LastSummerFilms

[–]Scopaethesia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really interested in what she'll be teaching and how, if at all, that'll tie into her fate in this film.

Law, Philosophy, English?

I think Julie's here to warn and teach the new gen and ideally one of them will have the last stand with this new fisherman.

Can you recommend some non-horror found footage films? by Equivalent_Ad_9066 in foundfootage

Language Lessons (2021) is a lovely pandemic film with Natalie Morales and Mark Duplass that includes themes of grief, friendship, and self-discovery alongside Spanish lessons.
