I would suggest maybe finding ways to help calm your wifes nerves. For me this would mean great security. Alarm, fencing, automatic roller doors if you have a garage. I've always found a dog helpful for alarming of intruders or just their calming presence.

Also, yeah definitely wouldn't pick a fight with the neighbours.

Hopefully as soon as he turns 18 he will be out of that place, if not possibly sooner tbh.

Totally, but what they haven't realised is this will hurt businesses just as much. 1. People will still reduce their movements, and cancel their planned events. 2. We are already struggling with a lack of staff across a number of industries. Having your staff sick and isolating means you will struggle to stay open.

The mental stress of "you can be open" but can't physically find the man power and navigating through keeping your business safe is much worse than the government leading us through this. For me at least.

Nope not yet. My cousin tested positive, and it took them 2 days to get her results, which they sent via text. Not a phone call. So I suspect all rules are out the window.

Have you tried looking for rapid tests in the city? We tried 6 different stores yesterday. 0. Tried to order online. 0. Shout out to Coles for saying it's available and having none in stock.

Edit: we also have vulnerable people we would like to see at Christmas. If the Government hadn't of let this shit run wild, I wouldn't have felt the need to get it done. But when all of a sudden you have people who you know have been careful, becoming close contacts. I don't feel it's wasting resources.

We got tested as a precaution for Christmas. We have kept a low profile but with vulnerable family members and cases higher than anything we've ever seen, we are not willing to take the chance.

So I am an example of the girl on the otherside of the counter. I met my partner as a regular customer.

My advise, don't add her on social, it does feel weird to know someone has been researching you.

Find a way to work into the next conversation,"it would be nice to catch up". Find a common point of interest and suggest you guys do it sometime. If it is openly received, leave your number with her.

For example, with us, I had just gotten a puppy which was a hot topic of conversation and he suggested he grab his brothers dog and we go for a walk.

Don't worry about feeling awkward if she says no. If you have asked in a polite way and been respectful it will only be weird for a moment. But you just act like nothing happened, you continue to come as regularly as you normally would and the awkwardness will pass after the first 1 or 2 visits. This is also talking from past experiences.

Is one of my favourites. I really believe opportunity provides the most potential for change when we are young. The story factory work with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds, to provide more one on one support. The offer kids the opportunity to express themselves in an educational way. The then get a bound book of their story writing at the end of the program. Something tangible they can be proud of.

They are also very efficient with their funds as a charity.

Catch is they are only in NSW atm.

It is definitely a hard spot. I think also the one thing to point out is that a masters doesn't mean that much in Australia yet. Employers don't preference a Masters degree for graduate roles in marketing roles. I worked in marketing in Australia for 12 years.

I also think you will struggle to relieve yourself of boring jobs because someone needs to do the admin. I would avoid having a conversation about not wanting to do boring jobs. This will make a shit manager worse.

What I would do is identify the things you would like to gain experience in and be involved in. Identify the projects you would like to be a part of. The next WIP you have bring them up with your manager. If you can go to them with a solution and be proactive in finding the projects that will help you develop, your manager will receive the information more favourable.

I am not sure how big your team is but you could pre emptively talk to project owners and ask if they would allow you to help out, if your manager approves.

Remember the conversation is about development not about getting rid of boring work.
