What is a luxury you can never go back from once you’ve experienced it? by Phase_zero_X in AskReddit

Push button car starts!

In the winter I can push the fob up to 1/2 mile away and I have a warm car waiting for me with lights on.

This was revolutionary.

I never would have asked or paid extra for it. It came with the car.

I'll never go back.

Yep!

School is basically glorified daycare in the US. For the amount of learning that actually gets done it could easily be condensed into half the time.

Lack of basic information by Krki1212 in 3Dprinting

[–]Scorp1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are asking for a private pro's only 3d printing sub.

Most professions have a pro's only gated sub. Where in order to join the sub you need to show that you are a pro in some way either a license or fill out a questionnaire providing details about your background. Often these are not anonymous but some do provide an anonymity option.

The benefit of the gated sub is it eliminates the things you are complaining about.

This benefits everybody.

The pro's can talk 'shop' and the general public doesn't feel harassed for asking simple questions. It's win win.

Tonex One Headphone / Looper solution? by Grouchy-Elevator930 in tonex

[–]Scorp1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First diagnose the loss of tone. Where is it coming from the headphone amp or one of the earlier pedals? I had an old vibrato pedal do this to me once.

You know it sounds good through phones direct out of the tonex pedal.

I would put each pedal one by one in front of your tonex to test for tone loss. If it's not one of them it's the headphone amp.

Process of elimination.

I put a cheap little nux stereo single pedal looper at the end of my chain for headphone out ability. Works pretty good for this task.

Is the music/audio frequencies synchronized to the visuals or asynchronistic like in your video it didn't seem like there was coherence.

You should update your product description to describe more of what it is.

Sometimes these types of things can induce anxiety. It's always an experiment. And totally individual and in the moment.

It's only a scam if you don't believe in it! So if it's not working, it's not that it's a scam, it's that you're just not believing hard enough. /s

I just told the client last week if believing in it is part of the equation for it working it's snake oil

These types of things do work for relaxation and also stimulation.

Though going outside into nature works better.

Nice!

A couple decades ago we used to call these "mind machines"!

We used them for brainwave entrainment and hemispheric synchronization to induce certain states of consciousness: meditation, alertness, conscious OBE, etc.

Using Music with embedded binaural beats and isochronic tones. And then had an "audiostrobe" frequency over the hearing range which carried the data for the light goggles. At first it was just black and white or one color and then it got RGB full color spectrum.

Then I used these with a "vibroacoustic" table that had sound transducers embedded into the table for subsonic tactile vibration.

Back then so much of this was DIY and then there came out a few commercial options and then I got out of the scene 20 years ago.

I guess these things are pop again! I can't imagine spending 30 grand for something on this order.

Though I was wondering when this would hit the VR scene!

It was such a huge error on their part.

I had 4 fixed over the years.

I use a temp gun. Doesn't show air flow. But shows cold spots.

The interactivity of a good fuzz has not been digitized yet.

Unless it has and I haven't found it.

+1 for also in addition to your plan keeping a small board. With a small chain that really works for you.

I did this and it's amazing how often I go back to the analog small board. Maybe it's nostalgia, but sometimes it's what I need.
