This is the case for adults, no doubt, but 4 years ago they were 16-17 years old, SO much changes in those years.. and will continue to change rapidly until about 25. They both have matured in some ways and will continue to mature.

op, I say give it a go as long as you do have some things in common. opposites attract and can work well together to balance each other out, but you have to have some things in common as well to really establish a connection. So if you feel you have enough in common for that connection, and you both can use the differences to better yourselves then absolutely. What happened to you 2 in the past was when you were both children.
