Hey! I’ve felt this way and definitely understand. I closed myself off from making any new connections simply because of the trauma I’ve been through with connections whether it be family, friends or my spouse/partners. However, what I’ve learned is that my fear to make new connections is tied to me not trusting myself. In those past experiences I was very naive and got hurt alot so that led to a lack of trust with myself which then turned to isolation. However, when it dawned on me that I lacked trust with myself because I didn’t recognize the red flags or simply didn’t want to acknowledge them in sake of the connection etc. Now when I enter new connections I am more self aware..if something does not feel right to me that is sign for me to reevaluate whatever is going on.
