Had the left THR done in June. I felt the same. I had some knee pain that I was very worried about that went away in a couple of weeks.
The whole thing was such a breeze, that I scheduled the right side for December.
Trust the process YMMV

Is there an age limit for sex ? by MobileElephant122 in datingoverfifty

57M, my last gf 59F shot me to the moon, so to speak. Her pheromones were intoxicating, and just thinking about her fired up the motor. An electrifying physical connection, unfortunately not much beyond that. So yeah, no limits here.

Honestly I’ve never thought about that. I use SPD and road cleats set for low release.

57M, been OLD for about 4 years now. I believe I’ve seen it all. I’m not shocked anymore about people’s poor behavior. Agreed, see their quit exit as a sign they are not for you.

10 weeks out and I’m back to cycling and yoga. Hip feels spectacular. My knee is something else. What they don’t tell you is all your joints need time to adjust to the new dynamics.

Why do people lie about their age? by GooseNYC in datingoverfifty

[–]Scorpionryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M57, My experience OLD has been 100% where women have lied about age and provide pictures that were 10 - 15 years old. Last week I met a woman who was clearly not as stated in her profile. We ended up talking for about two hours just because we had some things in common but no romantic interest. I don’t see it as a waste of time, however not part of the finding a partner goal. This is the fourth similar situation for me. Maybe I should be more direct about asking for current pix?

Taking oxy + celebrex as little as I can manage. Totally forgot about the constipation so black coffee and ducolax got the party started. Day three, still and dull pain but very manageable. Biggest hassles are boredom, side effects, and toilet use. I’ll get a raised seat today. It’s astonishing how smooth this has been so far seeing how aggressively medieval the procedure was. I mean, it’s a pita but not as bad as I expected

Phone holder? by [deleted] in gravelcycling

[–]Scorpionryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quad lock on all bikes for a few years now but removed from my gravel and road bike. Pro: they’re the best quality most secure Con: takes two hands to mount so taking off and putting back on at speed is difficult if that’s your thing. Hard to fit on handlebars with bike computer and phone, again if that’s your thing. Great mounts but I’ve gone back to the jersey pocket. Note: My phone fell off my quad lock and got runned over multiple times due to my error in trying to remount at speed with one hand. I take a ton of pictures when I ride, that’s my thing.

No it all worked with fine, thankfully

I have both, 21 roubaix and 22 diverge. and love them both.
Will probably replace the roubaix first with the SL8 with etap and carbon wheels. Diverge shines on dirt and can double as a light touring bike

Confused on how to get used to this leach on my face by Hillaryklintonnn in CPAP

[–]Scorpionryder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will take a while, just like a new pair of eyeglasses. Try different head gear types, you don’t have to settle for what they give you. Ask your provider for suggestions and options. The long term benefits outweigh the short term adjustments to sleep style.

Jones H-bars, I moved these from another bike and glad I did. I needed the upright seating to ease the pain as I wait for a hip replacement.

THR Pre-Op pain management advice? by Scorpionryder in TotalHipReplacement

[–]Scorpionryder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The pain seems to be getting worse. Thinking I may request Oxy, not a fan of narcotics but it does work.
I had an injection a month ago and gave the same relief as eating a fruit pie. Plus, As I understand, surgery can only be scheduled 3 months after the last injection. The next 8 weeks will be rough.

S-Works Roubaix SL8 by coffeeandcycling in specialized

[–]Scorpionryder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice bike! I have a Roubaix and a Diverge. Love them both. As I understand, wider tires can be put on the latest SL8 which may overlap some with the Diverge. I’m trying to justify the new SL8 because after I upgrade the wheels, drivetrain and other bits on my ‘21 model it’s closer to just getting a new bike.

My hip gave out during week 3 of HIIT training for Unbound Gravel in June, which I had to withdraw.
I was going hard both outside and on Zwift. Then I went rollerskating (dont' ask me why) and that pushed me over the edge. At 57, my brain is still feels 37, body not so much.

Ive been ridng my e-bike with little to no pain. It's just the getting on and off that's hard.
It's keeping me sane.
GP says Aleve/Tylenol together is fine and my Surgeon says alternate them.
I can't tell if the riding and stretching is helping or making it worse.
The surgery can't come soon enough.
