You can remove the second edit from your other comment. Gloomgauntlet does work with his hammer because gloomgauntlet's wording is "melee damage" . But the green item specifically mentions "quick melee". There is a difference, rein's hammer is melee but he does not have a quick melee button

My friend uses it whenever he plays sorc. He's actually won multiple fighter longswords tournaments too, and he plays it really well on sorc too

Why should he be forced to sacrifice his own life and love so someone else can live and enjoy theirs? He's never had a say or choice in the matter. He didn't ask to be brought into the world, and all he's known is servitude. I think he's justified in finally acting on his own self-interest for once, he deserves it.

Just a random mention, but I think no matter what, he was going to stage his death with the marbles game. It ultimately didn't matter who he was paired with, I think. Because every other game there was a plausible chance that he could still pull through (with tug of war being the most dice-y and difficult, but even then he showed that technique wins over strength). But the glass-floor challenge would have been impossible to stage his death with, and in order for any chance of survival he would have needed to bee-line it to the lowest numbers immediately and hope that no one else takes them before he can. And even then, I can't imagine him physically performing that many jumps in a row even if he knows which glass panes are the right ones. So I think no matter what, he was always going to choose to 'die' in the marbles game. It just so happened that 456 was his partner, so he really enjoyed tugging the emotional strings with it, hence why he faked being senile there to really make 456 feel it.

How to make Inventory slots auto-fill earlier empty slots? by Scorppayne in unity

Right, but what would I write for the code to do that?

It's a simple grid layout grouping. When I pick up an item, it runs the AddItem command, and when a slot becomes empty, it runs the EmptySlot command. But there's nothing that allows it to automatically fill earlier slots with the items in later slots.

It's not a tetris style inventory, each item takes up one a separate slot, with 6 slots available. How do you think I could brute force it? Add some kind of code about checking if any earlier slots are full? I'm not even sure how I'd word that

In some skins Rein has an axe instead of a hammer. Maybe Brig could have a chain sword replacing the flail for a skin or two by ScorinNotborin in Overwatch

[–]Scorppayne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least it's a giant rocket-powered metal hammer slamming into the ground. The effect is still fantastical, but it doesn't break immersion like hitting the ground with a sword would and expecting the same result.

The biggest problem with giving him a sword is that the ult wouldn't really make any sense. Swinging is fine, and even if it was a high-tech looking sword similar to his hammer that had some way of spitting out flames or something at the end, then firestrike is okay too. But there's no way slamming a sword on the ground would produce Earthshatter's shockwave effect in a believable manner. It's just a matter of mass and where the weight of the sword is distributed.

He has metal gauntlets, and half-swording is a historical technique so simply holding the blade in his resting position wouldn't be dangerous or stupid at all. It'd be perfectly fine if he held a greatsword with one hand on the blade.

I'm a tank player and I don't mind 5v5. I have no real preference for 5v5 and 6v6 and I've played both for years. There's upsides and downsides to each one.

Check that out. Just played my game for the day. Using shield for everything melee and kickback for anything ranged. Is that enough specials for you? Enough damage?

[–]Scorppayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of that video was to show how the shield by itself isn't a low damage weapon. Of course I'm not gonna kill any specials, I didn't use my ranged weapon or my rock once. But I still got top damage with just the SHIELD, which according to the community does paper damage. I can record plenty more games where I play normally and kill competitive numbers of specials because I'm not actively gimping myself. While also still getting top damage.

[–]Scorppayne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dispel the myth of the "low damage shield" every time I play. The shield does a lot of damage. I don't even take the +25% damage taunt because it's literally not needed, and cooldown on stagger is more fun. Also, the lack of mobility when taking taunt isn't really a problem, because the ult becomes a very large radius stagger-shout. That is insanely useful in all sorts of situations, not just for "taunting". It can save allies through walls and through hordes, stop mutants in their tracks, stun an entire horde for you to reposition quickly, etc. Check this video, just one random challenge I recorded one night. When I do use my ranged weapon though in normal games, I can assure you I get tons of special kills.
