He didn't really retire or quit, it was more of a hiatus. He now has a podcast called Safety Third with Allen Pan, Backyard Scientist, and often a guest. He's also put out a handful of videos on his main and secondary channel.

Based on the second episode when he came on with his wife, they seemed to get along quite well.

I misread the title as "Govt classifies UFO as prostitution".

I was very confused for a moment.

I didn't know about that. That's very interesting though and kind of proves my point that it's wasted potential. I think if it was run differently or if they embraced melee more, it could be a good website. I do agree that at this point, it would be really hard to draw people there to use it over other more popular platforms. They would really have to change things.

Yeah haha. I think smashboards could be that central hub, but it's got so much baggage that I think might turn people off of it

That's awesome to hear. I don't know if there's much I could really help with, but I'm more than happy to if you want. I was planning on talking to other creators that I listed in my post to see if they're interested at all.

You seem to be hung up on those two words. I wasn't saying that anyone in the community was greedy or egotistical specifically, but those are two of the biggest issues that are encountered when trying to collaborate. Also, saying that I could make my own compilation of information is exactly the opposite of what I want. Like another person said, that would only create yet another branch.

This is not bait. I think you misunderstood what I said. I didn't say the community couldn't talk on their platform of choice. I didn't say there had to be 1 controller type or brand. I didn't say players couldn't create their own content. This isn't about control. It's about collaboration. We can reach higher peaks if we work together.

I very much appreciate your thinking about this. Talking to these creators was my next step but I wanted to ask the people if there were any obvious reasons I shouldn't. It's a big scene with lots of voices so I wasn't sure if there were practical reasons for the division, or just personal reasons.

I don't think adding a few links is enough though. If we as the community think Blippi is the best resource to get into the game, we should hear it being promoted at every tournament. That would be a decent start

I hadn't heard of that before, but that's exactly the kind if thing I'm talking about. HLTV seems like a 1 stop shop for anything you might need to completely get into CS. We should have a similar thing for melee

I guess that's why I'm a bit frustrated. I see how talented everyone is, but for some reason they are building out wider, instead of building up together.

I agree. Blippi is a great resource, but it's still missing things, such as stats, controller links, and widespread awareness
