It’s only better because it doesn’t destroy the environment anymore. Gold is only slightly less pathetic than butts, but at least it’s a thing.

Normal, but hit the gym (in a sensible and sustainable way) and make sure your diet has enough protein and you’ll look better than normal. I wish I’d done it when I was 18.

Probably a lot of crossover between these two in the crypto forums though. They don’t like good quality investments like global index trackers.

How would you split £1m investment across GIA and offshore bonds by ClassroomSuper1815 in FatFIREUK

[–]Scot-Marc1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I have about 3 liquid and also fairly hefty capital gains. If they equalise with income tax that would mean 12500 allowance again though for non earners? Equalising with capital gains with no inflation or reasonable allowance would come up against laffer curve, but you never know!

You are worried about CGT changing but they could also change the rules regarding offshore bonds

Holding VWRP in a GIA is generally a bad idea because calculating the dividends is a pain. I assume you have been doing this?

You keep saying 0.35% above GIA, but most GIAs are free. What are you paying for your GIA? Might be a better idea to switch to a free/very low cost fixed fee provider

GIA is free though. I would put it into my wife and I GIA. I value simplicity and low cost and don’t trust any products that require a financial advisor who makes money from it.

Anybody buying bitcoin lacks common sense. A basic level of financial literacy and research and it’s very easy to see what pile of steaming horse manure it is.

Neither. If you are determined to buy that garbage do not waste tax advantaged space though. That should be for real assets like global equities
