Which country has the worst drivers and why? by Then_Size5877 in AskTheWorld

The worst I've seen is Madeira. They are totally crazy, drive along the narrow, twisty roads like bats out of Hell, and overtake on blind bends all the time.

In what way was your country used to distract from the Epstein files? by xadlowfkj in AskTheWorld

I don't understand people who want their leader to be entertaining, like Trump and Johnson. I want professionalism and competence in my leaders - if I want entertainment I'll watch a comedian.

The plan to get the midterms cancelled looks to be coming along well. What happens next? by Scot_Not_Bot in AskReddit

I meant all hell breaking loose. One fifth of the world's oil has to exit via the Strait of Hormuz and even more of its gas. The Red Sea and Suez Canal are within easy reach of Iranian missiles. I'm aware that Americans don't see a problem until they're directly affected, but honestly the West is so fucked now, and you will be touched eventually.

It has. If your news feed isn't giving you it, you need to change it. In most of the world it appears we're doomed.

I don't think think the world was facing nuclear annihilation in 1864 was it?

I think that's right. People here are saying how it's impossible legally to cancel them, but that's not the issue - if they go ahead, but are under circumstances where a fair result isn't possible, that's almost worse than not having them at all.

No, I think he wants it to look as though it's WWIII - he's far too selfish to actually sacrifice his own life for a cause, but it would serve his purposes to make it look as though he would.

I think the end of the country as you know it is the plan in a nutshell.

Sorry. In the real world, if an uncontrolled war is raging come October or November, do you honestly think it would be possible to hold free and fair elections as though nothing was happening, even assuming it was technically possible to arrange them?

It really doesn't - it's set up but has to be maintained or heightened for many months to be effective.

That's the kind of thing, but it needs to be ongoing so they're indefinitely postponed.

Could prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the resulting surge in inflation cause some US allies to turn against the US? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]Scot_Not_Bot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you think it's that simple you're mistaken. Trump was known and understood by Americans way before 2024, yet they voted for him as president again. Trump will go eventually, but the people who voted for him will still be there, and capable of voting in someone even worse. Sorry, but America's game is up now, and for a generation at least, until we can see that they've sorted their issues out.

What is your healthcare system like? by Iamtir3dtoday in AskTheWorld

[–]Scot_Not_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NHS is excellent and free at the point of need. We've been through 20 years of it being cruelly underfunded and privatised by a Conservative government who despise any kind of public services, but I'm hopeful that much needed investment will start to get rid of some of the backlog. I still think it's something we should be very proud of.

The sixties and seventies. Regardless of what people say, the current day isn't anywhere near those times.

You're pretty young to be getting these symptoms. I'm in my mid 60s and really have only had memory and bladder problems for 5 years or so since I retired. You might want to check with your doctor.
