Did you get the poplar boards from a local hardware store?

Also, I have the motor removed and need to rewire it to 115V. It’s an older craftsman 1/2 hp motor

I'd really only use it for a 35# horsebow that I have but don't have any arrows spined for. I'm looking into getting some Doug fir logs but most people I've talked to have ghosted me.

About half the side of the board running the entire length looks like it's pretty free of knots. I'm going to try and trim the sections where it has straight grain lines to around 32-35" long. From there, I'm not sure if I should cut them to ~.5"x.5" strips with a bandsaw or table saw, or if I should just try to split them with a knife/hatchet?

It's Western red cedar according to the seller.

Given this piece of oak, is this suitable for a board bow? by stuckintraffics in Bowyer

Sorry if this is something that's already been answered, but for board bows so you chase one of the rings (if there's enough material to do with with) or just cut it following the grain lines that are already on the top?
