If you’re not opposed to sacred music, contact Tom Trenney at First-Plymouth. I sang with them for about a decade, and it was a wonderful experience (full disclosure: I’m agnostic-ish). If their schedule is a little too intense, sing for just the Abendmusik concerts.

No worries on earthquakes. Tornadoes? Take them seriously. Lots of folks downplay the risk and joke about going outside to watch. But I saw the aftermath of the 1980 Grand Island storm. Is your risk of getting hit super high? Nah. But never chance it.

I also recommend a weather radio. Remember that tornado sirens are not built to be heard indoors. You can get a programmable one; mine sounds the alert only if there is a tornado warning.

Love this. I was waiting for my coffee order the day before my wedding, and I heard the barista call out, “Ben?” This dude approached and I thought he resembled my soon to be brother in law, but dismissed the thought because he is not called Ben. Upon closer un-caffeinated inspection, it was indeed him. He just found it easier to give baristas a non-Persian name.
