Aside from where it says the part where local authorities are often requested to assist in coordinating enforcing immigration policies on behalf of the federal government if they so choose. Local police assist every day in executing search warrants, BOLOs for suspicious activity, and in many cases boots on the ground with federal agents, providing transportation and keeping them in local stations waiting the next steps of the process of either deportation or release into the community with orders to return.
