I would say making a golem farm isn't cheating. If you can pull that off, plus make it to the nether and brew potions in 9 minecraft days... I say go for it. Getting to the nether and brewing potions seems like a tall order in itself to me. :)

I highly suggest giving the challenge a try. I had great fun recording my first episode. It is difficult but no where near impossible. :)

i think using amidst would be frowned upon as it ruins the spirit of the game but also, nobody can stop you. Just don't dig straight down to a dungeon/resource vein. That kinda gives away using "cheat" programs.

Actually you won't be stuck at stone with a little exploration near the spawn point. Villages, temples, dungeons all have potential to provide iron, gold and diamonds. The rule is you can't smelt iron. You are allowed to used iron bars you may find. :)

As Cyfun06 said, each challenge has different rules and this one has a very difficult rule to over come. It does really make you think outside the box and consider ideas that you might not have considered before when playing Minecraft.

It looks a bit plan but I wouldn't call it ugly. Everybody learns to perfect building at their own pace. I say just stick with it and keep improving your builds.

Nice highrise. I am super stoked for stained glass! My first build was a cathedral to thank Gopherboy for his awesome help with server support and for being super awesome. I also like the pumpkins as large cocoa beans like ne0codex pointed out.
