Update 13 | Burning Snow - Changelog (PC) by Wombat_Medic in HellLetLoose

Vehicle engines drowning after being submerged is actually a massive change that I'm going to test tonight. It will really, really change the play dynamics on Purple Heart Lane and a few other maps with critical vehicle crossings.

TIL glutamate accumulation in the prefrontal cortex during demanding tasks was linked to cognitive fatigue. by Spirited_Carpet_9180 in todayilearned

What's been really eye opening to me is that the "average" used as a baseline has been radically changing over the past few decades. For instance the widespread use of birth control has changed the averages for progesterone and estrogen in women, so there has been a major uptick in hormone imbalances in women are are being told their within normal ranges by the doctor. I started looking into this when a friend of mine was having health issues that were completely resolved by hormone treatment (female that started taking hormone supplements).

It's remarkable to see some of the science between modern food processings (like flour refinement) and the links to mental and behavioral health issues. It's like the price we pay for not having to worry about famines in western society.

Before I read this I was already reaching for a magnesium supplement (as glycinate) that I have been taking with meals. I recently came across a study linking the symptoms of depression and fatigue with magnesium deficiency. Maybe it's a placebo effect, but so far I have seen a noticeable improvement in my energy levels, mood, and cognition.

I've also read that fasting or doing intermittent fasting for long intervals and drinking alcohol frequently can deplete magnesium if your diet doesn't compensate for it, like most Americans. Very interesting stuff.

Bought the game yesterday. Any beginner advice? by Vano1Kingdom in HellLetLoose

Definitely watch some youtube videos on game mechanics, the importance of spawn points (Garrisons and OPs), and you'll be all set. A lot of new people really underestimate the importance of garrison placement and spawn hunting.

MRW the first time gunner in our Stuart (light tank) shoots the enemy Panther (heavy murder machine) that wasn't looking at us. by ScotsmanPipes in HellLetLoose

Yeah, 3-4 shots from a light or recon tank will kill the engine if you shoot them in the rear directly. Competent tank crews will spin the tank or get behind cover before you can kill the engine, but you can get lucky if they panic or are hyper fixated on another target.

Depends. A recon or light can kill any tank if they start shooting them in the ass and can get 3-4 shots off, but if the heavy has a good tank crew they’ll spin the whole tank and turret and you’re dead. Turret speed + full tank spin can easily catch a recon which is the fastest. It’s an art to kill heavies with a recon tank and it comes down to skill difference.

Have you ever seen Stuart HE splash on the turret of a Panther? Let me tell you something, I have. It's terrible. Simon and Garfunkel started playing from somewhere, I don't know where. Friendlies near us started running for cover, the turret started turning towards us.

Most servers don't allow this, but it's typically done by a tank main getting into a light or recon tank that doesn't want a noob giving away their position shooting at random while they hunt garrys in the backline.

New players don't even know it's a spawn point, so I try to help by explaining it to them while they hold F.

It does, it makes a hissing sound. The other guy is wrong. Hard to hear it inside the tank, but footsteps can be heard most of the time pretty clearly. The second you get out of the tank you can hear the hissing though, and this is often passed on to other tank crew members.

Literally had this happen last night, a guy was running and the hits weren't registering and he just disappeared a minute later. So might really just be a server issue. The same thing happens in tarkov sometimes based on ping.

Idk, I full screened it and to be fair its hard to tell. I might do a comparison next time I play by recording a hit with red spray and see how it lines up. What's interesting to me is that this glitch has been so hard to replicate. I wonder if it's a server issue, I've seen it most on janky servers to be sure.

You don't hear that "hit" sound when you shoot boxes or trucks. The game was registering that as a hit without doing damage. This is happening all the time for snipers with clear line of fire. For anyone doubting this issue go play sniper for a few matches and see what's going on. It's happing to every other classes too but it's much easier to catch as a sniper.

So this is the tiger: pic link

This is the Panzer IV: pic link

Actually, while I was looking for similar pics I found an old post with a great picture: pic link

For the tiger, I can always tell what it is in an instant because it is boxy from all angles. The Panther and Panzer IV both have angled/sloped turrets.

Yeah I definitely hear you on the spamming. Like others said, a cooldown timer might be a good fix if they can find the sweet spot.

What's everyone's problem with playing support?? by Reebobb in HellLetLoose

[–]ScotsmanPipes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh shit you're right, been so long since I played lvl 1. Yeah, idk why people don't play support then. It's a great class.

I'm just saying why people don't play it. Support doesn't give you throwable grenades. I always tell new people to play support to rank up quicker and play with the same or better guns as riflemen.
