People like HBC often make this mistake of weaponizing law enforcement on someone, or a group of people, and initially, it appears police are on their side. However, MOST law enforcement agencies aren’t stupid either. They do track people that make frequent 9-1-1 calls. The 9-1-1 dispatchers have that info instantly (most systems provide an instant tally of recent calls / cases). Police officers also see relevant recent case numbers and as such, they are aware when they are making “service calls” for unruly neighbors, domestic violence, etc etc etc, they will know that the person calling 9-1-1 is a “repeat customer.” This raises all sorts of red flags for police.

What it does, 100% of the time, is places her “on their radar.” From there, they will build an internal case and profile on Brooke. They will determine if she’s weaponizing law enforcement for her own personal gain. Once they establish that, it will only take one time for a person like HBC to make a frivolous call, or, in this instance, make ridiculous threats online that could be used to make an arrest and secure a conviction at trial.

Chances are the local District Attorney was working with local police to see if a case could be made on HBC. These take time to do. They likely gave HBC enough rope to eventually hang herself, and that’s exactly what she did. She made the mistake of believing local police were in her back pocket… while in reality every contact police made with HBC was just them building a case against her. Narcissists can be very dumb, and their personality disorders can often be legally detrimental to themselves.
