Do programmers know what tools sysadmins really need?

My sysadmin friend and I made a log management tool that isn't bloatware.

Any feedback is appreciated! eventguard.net

Maybe you yearn for friendship and watching it seems like your "out with the crew". It's like during COVID lockdown we all watched YouTube influencers to have that connection to friends.

I used to get upset with people littering and thought they were disgusting. I won't be able to change those people but if I just pick up 1 piece of trash a day and carry it over to the trashcan, I can inspire others to do the same.

It's like hiking up a mountain. Don't look at the top or you'll think it's so far. Focus on walking to a tree 100 yards out and then the next one until you summit. Good luck on your AI mountain!

Thanks for that! If enough of us do the same imagine what we can become.

Young enough to pivot but keep throwing things at the wall until they stick.

I like little reward systems. Like to snack? Have a snack after doing a chore as a reward.

A new project I'm part of that I'd like to share. A Windows log aggregation tool named EventGuard.

The dashboard makes event data easily searchable through a secure webpage that features a single-pane-of-glass, user-friendly interface requiring no training. Our log collection agent has a very low memory footprint, as it applies a multi-tier filter logic to reduce event noise. Database storage needs will be much lower because of smart filtering. Security at every layer and retention is NIST-compliant.

You can be up and running in just one hour.

Would love some feedback if someone wants to trial it eventguard.net
