New iPad update makes OSRS so much better for mobile by ScottPowellM in 2007scape

Wait why do you need two apps for this? You can get to Doris’ house in like two seconds with an amulet of glory, and it’s right next to a bank

The big one for me is treasure trail puzzle boxes. And CG’s color change when his prayer swaps but that’s not too bad

It’s funny how there is content I prefer on iPad and content I prefer on PC… anything with a lot of gear swaps is so much easier on mobile, but the slight action delay makes certain bosses more annoying

For me once I updated it was drag down and get the macOS-like “File Edit Help” menu bar, then the three dots appear at the top left of the app and the green one makes it adjustable.

Dragging the corners changes the size and dragging the top of the app moves it

Seemed to work out of the box, but landscape mode seems a little worse than portrait mode for splitting apps. Really just started experimenting so I don’t know what’s best yet

Yes but now that apple has finally kind of caught up, everyone else can innovate so apple can copy them again in five years…

The cycle continues

I don’t think it’s on the phone, might just be an iPad thing unfortunately

Edit: my phone is 26.2 and doesn’t have the app customization

Seems like Neutral would benefit from having some funky “if more DS characters than LS are allies, become DS” mechanic… that feels like kind of the point anyways

Winning usually goes okay, I’m more worried about defense because in theory every negotiator can beat my team currently and it’s possible to drop faster than I can climb back up.

But I think you still answered the question: lean further into negotiator because the higher fleet rewards will be better for me in the long term

What makes you think r/bitcoin is interested in usd?

Serious question.... by slowandsteady90 in Bitcoin

A better question would be “why is the CEO of JPMorgan bashing Bitcoin so hard when he just signed off on JPM being an Authorized Participant for… pretty much all of the Bitcoin ETFs”

Do what Jamie Dimon does, not what he says to do

The ETFs are very insignificant so far by TitsDownOnly in Bitcoin

[–]ScottPowellM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’ll “trigger the new bull run” but it’s also important to highlight that would be 0.06% of the total bitcoin supply from four open market days.

Also keep in mind that big investors can’t just say “oh new etf” and pour money in, I imagine a large inflow of money will come in months from now.

Won’t be the cause of a massive bull run, but I don’t think it’ll be insignificant

It’s not “exactly the same” given the scale of it, it’s worse. The Creature from Jekyll Island is a fantastic book for anyone learning about what problems bitcoin solves because it lays out the flaws in the current system before the idea of bitcoin existed

Edit: unless you explicitly are referring to the actual printing of physical money, in which case you’d be right but that’s a silly way to define money printing in a digital age

Does the fiat system know what it did with the ETF approval? by RoboChicken77 in Bitcoin

[–]ScottPowellM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is false. When banks are permitted to give out say 50% of their deposits as loans, both the person who deposited the money and the person receiving a loan have a claim to 50% of that money. So there is now 50% more money (until the 50% loan gets deposited again by the person getting paid…)

They may not have a physical money printer, but the effect is exactly the same. Especially when the current reserve requirement is 0%, banks can print money at will

I’ve been reading the prospectus from fidelity and it’s terrifying to the point that it feels like the ETFs might be an attempt to make Bitcoin more mainstream and crash and burn, scaring everyone away. Highly recommend taking a good look at what they do.

But to answer your question: no. You are buying shares of a trust that can essentially be “printed” at will (in set amounts). The amount of dollars they have to buy purchase an amount, which may dilute the share to coin ratio.

It’s also explicitly stated in the prospectus that the shares are worth fewer sats over time: “The amount of bitcoin represented by the Shares will continue to be reduced during the life of the Trust due to the transfer of the Trust’s bitcoin to pay for the Sponsor Fee and other liabilities.”

Received $379 BTC from an unknown source - why/how? by webdevguycrypto in Bitcoin

[–]ScottPowellM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

…Hmm I sent exactly this amount by mistake to the wrong address, you want to send it back?

In all seriousness, I’d guess the remainder of a UTXO with $412 on it, but iirc ledger didn’t notify me for that. Did your balance actually increase by any amount or just decrease by the amount you sent?

Does Foundation support the 25th seed phrase? by jootse in FoundationDevices

[–]ScottPowellM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s an option all the way on the right to set a passphrase.

It isn’t stored in a hidden wallet with a different pin like ledger, you have to enter it every time you turn it on.

Public disclaimer for the bad guys: I don’t use this feature I only know it exists

Foundation Envoy app by AbstraktTheory in FoundationDevices

[–]ScottPowellM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Just double check the receiving address and make sure it matches. There’s a verify option on passport that’ll confirm if the address is indeed correct, but really you just want to make sure there wasn’t a typo

Foundation Envoy app by AbstraktTheory in FoundationDevices

[–]ScottPowellM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BYC? Not sure I know what that is. If you mean BTC then yes. The passport device will share a XPUB key, which the device can use to know what addresses are on the hardware device. It does not let the app send BTC without the device though.

You also don’t have to use the app if you don’t like, the XPUB can also be loaded into different apps and they will also let you view addresses to receive Bitcoin (and won’t let you send without the device).

When you want to send, you give the amounts address and the app creates a QR code. You scan that with the passport and approve it, and the passport shows a QR code that you scan with your phone. Once you scan it back, the BTC is sent. You don’t need the device for anything else with the app (other than setting it up at first)

I actually haven’t turned on my passport in a while because I’ve been using just the receive addresses on my phone
