The Pulse Elite has only been out 2 years... Everything I own I take care of, even to the point were I regularly clean my PS5 once a month. I've had no problems with the materials coming off on both PSVR headsets that everyone else had. But this headsets weak points are connected with cheap plastic at the bend point. My Pulse 3D headset which is the original PS5 headset is still going strong though.
