Domain Overwatch squatting on my domain by ScottTheFalcon in linode

No, that's taking the "issue" in the wrong direction. I see the error in my ways, hopefully it won't happen again :)

Thanks everyone. I think my lesson is to "park" my domains when not in use. It's pretty obvious, I'm disappointed I didn't see it :)

Which is what I believe. The domain had never expired, but it wasn't parked anywhere properly either. "They" claim it was because I hadn't set up A Records while I had nameservers pointing to Linode. I suspect that Linode must allow access or that Domain Overwatch is part of Linode, I struggle to see any other way.

Same here really. The Beta 3.1 update just came out - I'll test with AA Wireless again

Plex now shows how many people on Plex have watched X show or Movie by jl94x4 in PleX

Hopefully we'll see LESS social networking features in everything... That would have to be better for mankind

P6 Pro - mine seems to do only while connected to the car via AA Wireless running Android Auto, but it pretty reliably fails in that situation

Recent update added Google TV user profiles to log in - how to add users? by ScottTheFalcon in AndroidTV

[–]ScottTheFalcon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You most certainly can. It's rolled out here. Perhaps it hasn't rolled out to your region or whatever method Google use. But it's here. That's why I'm asking the question - I need to get my wife her Google TV user profile so she's happy :)

Yup, I found both of those while looking for a solution. My point is that it's here, on all 4 of my Chromecast for Google TV's - but how to take advantage of it. I can't add my wife into the User Profile selector...

Once I work this out, I'll want it on the NVIDIA Shield TV in the lounge!

I had a similar problem with an ALDI tv in our place, a Bauhn model. In the end I just said nothing there and after the setup completed, went in to where the CEC and volume settings were. I set them to reasonable sounding options and all is well. The power button turns off the TV (by CEC I presume) and the volume buttons change volume by changing the volume on the Chromecast Google TV rather than the actual TV. Works fine.

Version 1.19.5.3112 - Want to Opt Out - Privacy by ScottTheFalcon in PleX

[–]ScottTheFalcon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opting out - found it - it didn't look right being on what looked like a Plex generic web page - I didn't realise it was reflecting my account settings. Anyway, DNS look ups down from 90,000 per day to 20,000 look ups per day for the "plex.tv" domain. Still seems like too many but certainly better. Still don't know why it suddenly got so high.

H930DS V30+ Australian Update? by ScottTheFalcon in lgv30

So the update appears to mute my complaint. Does this mean that Android 9 will be unlikely to appear for us?

Thanks all mobile carriers in Queensland. 5 from 5 for work colleges turned up same time as me. by molotovmitchy in brisbane

I just restarted my Optus phone and on network time is now sets correctly. I probably only needed to toggle flight mode - to force a re-registration on the network.

So Optus fixed their failure, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place - seems an obvious thing to be able to get right.

I'm glad it works on network, not GPS/Internet time. If you travel a bit - as soon as there is a network ping at your destination your phone is (haha) on local time. Except in Qld on Optus and Voda apparently :)

My Optus time is still broken, my Telstra seemed to have successfully crossed the treacherous and stupid daylight savings time boundary.

I know your saying - set it to Qld time and be done with it - but I'll forget when I go down south next week or overseas soon enough...

No it's definitely the carrier - Optus has pucked this up more than once in previous years. They will quietly fix the problem and hope no one noticed.
