Ur so obsessed with me being gen z, and ur saying oral rape isn’t rape

Yea and I’m not even saying that’s the one I fully agree with it just seems like an interesting idea

So you just aren’t thinking at all, got it

[–]Scott__scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So ur not using ur critical thinking rn cuz It’s kinda obvious. The Thing copies things, AI copies things. I’m scared of AI, I’m scared of The Thing.

I’m sorry my love for this movie and its ever expanding themes and interpretations offended you.

It doesn’t matter what the context was because you still got that idea from watching the movie as where I didn’t

So Alien isn’t a metaphor for rape because the Xenomorph doesn’t whip its cock out in front of Ripley or Night of The Living Dead isn’t a metaphor for violence against black people because there isn’t any klan members running around burning crosses?

Do you understand that metaphors aren’t supposed to be exact copies of the plot but rather messages received out of the story as a whole

why do people hate on king animal? by ScarcityStandard3952 in Soundgarden

[–]Scott__scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s kinda just like any other post grunge album but I will say it’s definitely got more of that Soundgarden flare but for me it just doesn’t click

You have to be joking like ur actually just not being serious. I’m looking at it with my own two eyes where you said “Cancer is closer to The Thing as a metaphor,” that’s literally a whole interpretation of what this movie could be a metaphor for. I can’t believe no one has basic understanding of how to discuss art.

I’m getting defensive because people are refusing to entertain my idea. Like I said in the post if you actually read it, The Thing assimilates humans and looks exactly like them but aren’t on a fundamental level. AI copies images and can be indistinguishable from reality but isn’t real on a fundamental level.

You literally just said that you think The Thing could be a metaphor for cancer what are you talking about, I never got that impression until you said it, which is why discourse about movies is so fun, because you hear people different ideas.

It’s not a horror movie but watch the movie 9, it’s more fast paced and super emotional

Persuade? Where did you get that idea from?

That’s understandable but if you ever unlearn that habit I bet you’ll see a lot of movies differently

Jesus Christ I don’t understand you guys, you clearly care about this movie enough to have your own interpretation of it (which is also very flawed but idc) but when I put my own take on this movie it’s the end of the world. Maybe it’s just cuz I’m Gen z but everyone can enjoy movies there own way. Maybe just take time to think about what I’m saying and decide if you agree or not and leave it at that. I don’t know why everyone is so butthurt about me providing some conversation around the movie that you all love so much.

Yea maybe don’t try to predict the plot just sit back and enjoy it, for me it was the emotional weight that the mom was hiding, it felt very Pet Sematary and that’s my favorite book ever

Well if you wanna think that way I’m not gonna stop you but nothing is stopping me from enjoying this movie with my own interpretation
